“Not over it,” Eden said, her brow furrowed as she recalled the horrifying event. “To the top of it. A wall this tall is also deep. It's about four feet thick. It stood on top of the wall and...and...”

“And what?” Knight's voice was low and persuasive.

“Howled!” Eden slapped her hand over her mouth as if trying to keep the words from tumbling out. “It howled like a wolf.”

The characters in this book are written extremely inconsistently and shallowly. Eden in particular is described as a childish brat one second and mature for her age the next (she's 18). I can't figure out why these characters are into each other beyond the shallow reasons of hotness, which would be fine for them just hooking up but not for them falling for each other so hard and fast... Especially as Knight is about twice Eden's age and has supposedly never been in love before. The world-building is as lazy as the character writing so far as well. The plot is also lackluster.

Victoria Mei/Natalie Naudus is amazing, one of my all time favourite narrators in fact, but even she cannot salvage this.
