Story
Steve doesn’t care who he was. He knows more than enough to realize it doesn’t matter at all. Now living in what had once been the Creeplands and maintaining a thriving farm there, they are under constant siege from the Creep itself. It's still better than life in Lamals. And that’s just how it is. After taking over the Citadel, removing Lynn from her place of power, stopping the Creep’s advance, and starting to take over part of the Creeplands, he was certainly making a difference for himself, humans, and men everywhere.

Publisher's Summary
Damaged. Disgraced. Dishonored.
And the only hero who can save seven worlds.
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world.
Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone's disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it's still not enough.
Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive.
But this world and all its sister planets are under assault from nightmare creatures, supernatural storms, and a host of other cataclysms.
The strange, beautiful steward of these worlds offers him a deal: Save her planets, and he can take the power he gains back to his original body on Earth.
It's the best chance he's ever been offered. But will his determination be enough, both for himself and the worlds now depending on him?
Come and find out.

So great to see this come to Audible
I've always been a huge fan of this series, and having it come to Audible is a dream come true. This remains as one of my all time favourite fictions - the character development is just amazing. The trials the MC goes through and how he does it is absolutely captivating. The narrators bring it to life better than I could have imagined. Christopher gives all the characters the great depth they deserve and villians are chilling in their own right. Jessica did an awesome job with Breena and the fast-talking. Can't wait for the next installment!

This was so unrealistic....
This was so unrealistic.... So, let me give you the real summary of the book. The main character was hurt in an accident, he plays the VR game to get better. That much is true, and that is the first 20 min of the book. The next 5 HOURS of the book is how most of the people in his school are trying to murder him. Yeah Murder. Except the Author seems to think that is it bullying and for some reason the MC and his Mother has done nothing. So he is so messed up that he has to wear a padded helmet in public to protect his head. People have been purposefully knocking him down to try and turn him into a vegetable; We are talking like 40+ people. The incident that is described in detail, there are two football players running at full speed that then tackle him to the ground and attempt to CAVE HIS HEAD IN.... YEAH.... Now they have Full Dive VR tech, you would think he would get a body cam or a button cam, because apparently nobody believes him, not even his MOM? HOWEVER his mom KNOWS that people are trying to hurt him and asked the coach of the team to help him out... Two counter statements.... How do you know that people are trying to hurt your son to the point you need to ask his old coach to protect him and then when your son says "Mom they threw me into a wall every day for the last 5 months" and the mom then goes, "No I don't believe you" WHAT? So you have to hear this stuff for 5 hours. That is just 1 of the many stupid things that there were two statements that counter each other. Then we he goes to the other world, you expect he does something right, isn’t he supposed to level up and save the world and get his body back? NOPE all he does is talk about his life, and then the people in the other world literally say "But you are a hero, you tried to help people and they want to hurt you! They should HONOR YOU!" Over and over and over again for hours on end... We got it the first time... Lastly, there were some bad reviews that said something like my review, they are mysteriously gone. It seems that when you return books, Audible sometimes removes the bad reviews... So hopefully this one stays to warn you. If you like very unrealistic back stories that are basically so extreme just so the author can convince you the MC is a Hero and has done no wrong! Then you might like it. But he MC has no flaws, he was the perfect person when people try to murder him he didn't lash out, he just took it and powered through it and poor him his dad died and boo hoo but he is making it!!! Yeah no, I'm good. Book returned.

Now in my top 3 favorites!
Absolutely amazing character building and developing story! I was invested in the MC from the start, quickly rooting for him and willing him to succed. The story prgression was fantastic, no long and dry walls of words and no feeling like things were rushed or jammed in. The way that the author built up his version of LIT RPG was unique and intriguing. The author was incredible! His writing flowed well and felt like it was intended to be listened to, which leads to the phenomenal voices of the narrators. They both did a great job! The righting and the narrating together, upon finishing the book, has slammed down this title into my top 3 books! The male narrator's range of voices is large. He can do the most innocent child up to the most vicious and absolutely disgusting villain. The female narrator also was superb, from young child to condescending bi... buisness woman... Overall, the book read like the author knew who was going to narrate his work and, well, it worked! Really well. Now I'm pumped for the next book and I might have trouble sleeping.

Simply Revolting
Truth to tell, I did not want to write this review. The easy thing to do would have been to refund it and move on with my life. i rarely leave reviews and realize my tastes are just that. However, in this case, some things needs to be said. To start, the narrators did an excellent job in spite of what they had to work with. As for what they had to work with,... I listen to this genre for fun and do not go into these books with high expectations in regards to the author's grasp of either human physiological development, basic human psychology or English comprehension beyond the public daycare system of K-16 and still the book failed spectacularly on all fronts. This story is basically a puerile fantasy of repeatedly saving 'beautiful' damsels in distress while facing down amazingly absurd schoolyard bullies. The childish antagonists were unable to redeem a pathetic main character. During all this we are presented with the authors internal struggle over the dichotomy between healthy natural instincts and christian mental illness. It was a struggle to try and power through to the end hoping for some sign of the author overcoming his sickly sexual repression until I could endure no more and I had to quit with about three quarters completed. The extent of the author's literary skill at drawing in the reader consisted entirely of repeatedly putting the idea sex in front of the idea crime ad nauseum. This book might vaguely resemble a litrpg with some barely touched upon game-like mechanics and stats, but it actually belongs in a christian bookstore along with the rest of the self-righteous moral masturbators. For someone to write that some minors getting laid is "the most heinous crime imaginable", one cannot have too much contempt. Christian sexual oppression has already destroyed too many lives for this mental disease to continue to be tolerated. Despite the childish writing, due to it's christian prejudices this book is not suitable for either children or young adults. As for the rest, save yourself from having to endure the disgust and loathing and just move on to any of the better class of litrpg. This one was so noxious I had to step out to breathe clean air while listening to Bach to rid my mind of the memory.

Rage against the MC
It’s a great concept For a story but the drawn out monologging on what should be a five minute conversation between characters and that the MC should be asking questions even a child could come up with is just so nauseating and rage inducing I’m surprised I finished this book. The performance was pretty good but so slow trying to show emphasis in scenes of the book I was like “ok I get it let’s move on now”. Read the book, it’s much better. I don’t know why Christopher Boucher and Jessica Threet are chosen for almost every other audiobook, especially with some of my favorite authors. I see a favorite author of mine with a new audiobook and I’m like YES! Then I see who’s narrating it and then I grown and ask myself why them, why again. SMH

mandatory "I never write reviews"
Absolutely amazing. This is literally the first time I've ever taken time to write a review after an audiobook. let's start with the narrators. I was enthralled by every voice, every emotion, every stop or stutter, it's like I was reading to myself. S/He fully grasps the tone in every scene. I haven't enough vocabulary (or near by thesaurus's...theisorisi?... English obviously isn't my forté) to articulate just how impressed I was listening to this man/woman I got goosebumps, my heart pounded when the action was on, I was nearly in tears at times! But, enough of them though. The characters are well rounded (except for a few that I'm assuming was done on purpose and will be revisited and and hold more important roles in the next books) everyone felt like they had their own unique thoughts and opinions. The story... while not exactly original, has very unique twists to literary tropes. There are some dark themes, and at times it might get uncomfortable, but evil does exist... only here, there's a hero never stops fighting it. The hero is smart, (except with women) able, and perseveres through more than what is considered logical. I won't spoil a single thing, if you wanted to know what the story was about read the synopsis. But know, this story, the pace of it, the characters in it, the plot, even the darkness makes this book enter my top 5. I will be heavily recommending this to everyone I know. I'm off to buy the next 5 books. hope this was helpful to at least 1 person.

A rare 5 Star for me
I don't normally give books 5 stars because that means I would rave and recommend this book endlessly. Let me say it was a very, very slow start and it hit a lot of sensitive subjects as plot points for the MC and his family. That being said it was done wonderfully and tastefully for me to keep its heavy dark edge while not being disgusting and I applaud the author for this, it could have easily made me return this book. I think this series is one that will be something I pick up and struggle to put down with each release and if it comes to slow I may end up grabbing the books to just read. I like to say I appreciate the author for doing an audiobook and allowing me the chance to discover this series, I have little time to sit down and read so this made it much easier to experience and he picked a wonderful duo. Personal rating of the book: 5/5 Objective rating of the book 4/5 Reason my objective rating is 1 star lower is because the opening theme might be to heavy and to emotional for some and could throw them off before really getting into the good parts of the book. 100% ready to throw some cash at this man when he has the 2nd book released and if need be i'll throw it at him through my kindle instead.
