Publisher's Summary

Billionaires like him have a type. And it's not me....

I'm not the kind of girl who has one-night stands. Except...I did.

What can I say? After a few drinks with a gorgeous man who made me feel alive for the first time since losing my mom, I was powerless to say no. And I didn't regret it. Not one minute of our hot, mind-melting night together. But he wasn't a forever kind of guy. So I walked away. I wasn't supposed to ever see him again. Then I did.

Turns out my sexy one-night stand is Dr. Jacob Mitchell - and he's the cardiothoracic surgeon who just saved my dad's life.

The shocking part? He never forgot about me or a single minute of our night together. And he wants more. Actually, he wants it all.

But I'm no fool. And just because he handles hearts every day doesn't mean I'm going to give him mine. Not without a fight, anyway....

Contains mature themes.

Great story

Did not like Sarah Puckett voice as the female narrator . find her voice flat, no life with telling the story. it hurt to listen to throughout. However, I’ve always enjoyed Aiden snow voice, he basically kept me throughout the story. Other than that, it was a great story

Story was great.

I've listened to other Very Long series of books read by these narrators. They do a great job and I like the male voice more than the whispy female reader, but it was kind of distracting trying to focus on this story when the other lives I've discovered through their voices are so different. That's all on me though.

needed better editing

the writing wasn't bad, but I found the story very boring after the initial set up.

a lot of the character decisions didn't make much sense. all of the surfing scenes were unnecessary and boring. they all could have been cut and it would make no bearing on the plot or character development.

Jake kept referring to himself as an @$$hole but I didn't ever get that? he slept around, but that was the worst thing? all the worsr stuff he did was after the relationship

I really hated all the "psycho b word" language. all the characters seemed very harsh and unsympathetic. and weirdly ableist.

it also really needed a better editor. there were lots of small things that should have been caught. I don't think the author used the word "which" correctly a single time.

they also were constantly referring to Ashley's paintings as "portraits". portraits have people in them. that's basically the definition of a portrait. what Ashley paints are landscapes or just paintings.

also: Ashley's friends were a really good example of tokenism. they were gay. cool, some representation! but they also didn't have any motivations or personality of their own outside of the MCs life. they were only there to be a gay best friend and fulfil the stereotype of gay men who are great at fashion. what year is it????

would definitely not read another book by this author and I don't really get all the good reviews.

DNF at Chapter 9

Narrator's were okay. FMC was a little monotonous at times but easily ignored. The story is what didn't do it for me. It felt... flat.
