Publisher's Summary

Is yelling the new spanking? The research on yelling gets clearer and clearer by the day. It is both totally ineffective as a tool and just imprints violence into your children. Everybody kind of knows this. But we all yell at our kids over the same stuff every day, and we yell at them because the yelling doesn't work. We figure out how to stop.

Helpful and Encouraging

Helpful and encouraging for both mom's and dad's. Although aimed at fathers, this series is a great listen for mom's as well. Less of the pat-on-the-back sentimentality that usually drips from mommy self-help, and more practical down-to-earth investigations. My husband enjoyed it as well, and it gave us some good talking points and conversation starters. #Audible1

Great advice!!

Loved this advice and hearing men talking about feelings. It seems silly but it's something that doesn't happen enough. Will be sharing this with friends!

Not what I expected

I heard nothing new, all there is is swearing and not really that great content. The bottom line is not how you say it. It’s what you make your kids feel like when you say it

Just not for me

I couldn’t finish the first episode, we have scientific research stating the over praise and everybody wins way has been detrimental to our youth, and this seems to go even beyond that. Once again, didn’t make it through the first episode so I could be wrong, but
I’m not wasting my time
On this. I’m so sorry.

Unsustainable "Advice" from irritating people

It took EVERYTHING I had to listen to the entire 24+ minutes. As a father who was truly and legitimately interested in this topic I have NO idea who this was for. Even the narrators questioned whether the "tips" were sustainable. To top it all off, the doctor they speak with admits that he grew up in a household where his father never yelled or expressed negative thoughts. The doctor/psychologist then laughs off the fact that he had no idea how to handle negative thoughts or behaviour when he got married.

So, the secret to not yelling at your kids is basically the same type of "tips" that you get when you want to, "lose 100 pounds in 2 weeks!" It might seem like a good idea, but how you're supposed to maintain this way of thinking and living for the next 15+ years is any body's guess.

Don't waste your time or even your phone's memory.
