Description

Bill Nye has been the public face of science for more than 20 years. In Everything All at Once, the New York Times best-selling author urges listeners to become activists and agents of change.

Everything All at Once is an exciting, inspiring call to unleash the power of the nerd mindset that exists within us all. Nye believes we'll never be able to tackle our society's biggest, most complex problems if we don't even know how to solve the small ones. Step by step, he shows his listeners the key tools behind his everything-all-at-once approach: radical curiosity, a deep desire for a better future, and a willingness to take the actions needed to make it a reality. Problem solving is a skill that anyone can harness to create change, and Bill Nye is here to teach us how.

Each chapter describes a principle of problem solving that Nye himself uses - methodical, fact-based approaches to life that aspires to leave no stone unturned. He explains how the nerd mindset leads to a richer and more meaningful life; far more than that, it can help address hunger, crime, poverty, pollution, and even assist the democratic process. Throughout the book, Nye draws on his own experiences - leavened with his trademark humor and self-deprecation - to show how he came to think like a Science Guy, and how you can, too. By the end you will be ready to sort out problems, recognize solutions, and join him in changing the world.

Really Enjoyed it

Lots of good advice from a perspective and experience that only Bill Nye can share. Interesting stories that relate to the topics in each chapter. If your curious about the future and how we can go from here to there (wherever there is), Bill describes his journey to becoming a critical thinker, science communicator and CEO of the Planetary Society. He is hellbent on stopping apathy and encouraging people to change things for the better and to not be daunted by the tasks at hand to do everything all at once...but not like literally haha.

Arrogant, Boring and unnecessary

This should have been a biography on how great Bill Nye is.

Story was fairly interesting when it was about science, his American politics was just too much to swallow.

Ruined by Nye’s Egocentrism

Bill Nye is an expressive man who has helped bring science concepts to the masses. We know that. He doesn’t have to insert his accomplishments — impressive or otherwise — into every chapter. His constant bragging goes from mildly annoying to entirely off-putting. Similar to this, “Fighting climate change is important, but so am I.” Admittedly, I have a fairly low tolerance for arrogant people, but I couldn’t even finish this book and I agree with his concepts.

Who does this guy think he is?

He sounds like he's trying to prove that he matters through the whole book. Many of the stories are of the "I don't do this, but you should" nature. I truly feel like I'm listening to a 16 year old science student whom never matured on a social level. This was a hard one to get through because the entire vibe makes me think Bill Nye thinks far too highly of himself. I'm sorry but I really can't recommend this one.
