Publisher's Summary

“You’ll always be mine.”

The latest taunt from my stalker reminded me I was nothing more than a possession to my father, to the Reapers, to Archer D’Ath. Even to Kody and Steele. Princess Danvers - the prize.

His wife.

Archer D’Ath’s wife.

I hate them. They lied to me. Over and over again. I knew they were lying, and I hate myself for letting it happen. For believing in the fake relationships I want so desperately to be real.

Fake. It’s all f--king fake. My stalker won’t let me go. None of them will. Archer and his boys think they control me. My stalker wants to possess me. I’m not an idiot, I know my newest allies are using me, too.

That’s fine. I’ll use all of them. I’ll use them to take back what’s mine. My life. My freedom. My name.

No one owns Madison Kate Danvers.

Fake is a full-length college/new-adult romance with enemies-to-lovers/love-hate themes. This is a reverse-harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book three of four in the series.

Amazing narration and great story

All of the books in this series are amazing and the narration is some of the best I've heard. it's almost like listening to a live play. However, one small criticism would be pronunciation of some words. the word Macabre - the re is silent, ogling is not pronounced O-goling, things like that could maybe be picked up in an edit. Otherwise I would say these books are amazballs! Love Love Love them!

Hey, girls... Here's what NOT to do...

This is a Three-Book Review.
------------
So, here's the thing. You're going to really want to love this story. Like, really, REALLY love it. That sparks a'flyin' book summary you just read tells you that the lead female character is a strong, independent, take-no-prisoners she-wolf who'll bite your hand if you get too close.

Yeah...sigh...not so much.

In actuality, this story is about a woman who's ONLY positive attribute is her "smokin' hotness". Seriously. She can barely put 2 + 2 together. She's kind of a narcissistic, horrible person. But she finds herself the object of numerous powerful men's desires LITERALLY only because of what she looks like. Not kidding, absolutely no other redeeming qualities that would qualify it. Which tells younger women reading this that (a) you can forget all your problems by just taking your clothes off and hoping the dude has a condom, and (b) if you're not "f'kin' beautiful", you don't deserve deep, obsessive love. Way to go, Tate James!

And she relies on her body continually to stop her from having to form a complete thought, or remember that she should probably grab some pride from somewhere and kick various people to the curb.

The aforementioned men in her life quite literally destroy her world several times over, and continue to lie, demean, and berate her without caution. The writer gives her a very narrow curse words vocabulary, so she hurls the same lame clapbacks at them, then resolves the whole thing by telling them to pull their pants down.

So, why then, did I read all 3 books? Three reasons...

1. Love the story or hate it, I found myself yelling at my kindle and the writer's continual use of the same phrases, same tone, same everything. I had to put the story down many times because I just couldn't anymore with the LFC. And isn't that the true measure of good art? If an artist's work can get you to think about it, discuss it, even argue about it, long after you've finished reading it, then the artist has done his/her job. I can't argue with that.

2. I kept expecting the writer's promise about the LFC's strength to come to fruition at some point. Every time the male characters would do something horrendous, I thought, "Mmm'kay, here we go. FINALLY, she's going to get a backbone, kick them out, and be done with them." Sadly, it didn't happen. Just more of the same. Here's how each development went:

LFC: "Are you SERIOUS? You f*king destroyed my life. AGAIN!........You're an a-hole. I'm storming out...........Huh? Well, okay. Got any condoms...?"

3. The series was free with my membership. :)

About the narration, Brooke Daniels did great. There's a random clicking noise in the background several times per chapter. Sort of like when a dog's nails click on a hardwood floor? There are also random car horns, like in Ch 23 of Book 2. You probably won't notice without headphones. As far as Lucas Webley's narration, I previously wrote a pretty scathing review for him...can't remember the book, but the brother could not enunciate for anything! He's much improved and does a great job keeping each male character's voice their own.

I am so tired of writers creating women this way. Where are all the strong, independent (but not whiny or b!tchy) female lead characters who look like us, act like us, ARE us!? They can't all be buxom, blonde-haired, VIOLET-eyed, dingbat pushovers, can they?

WTF?!

What a pathetic air head! Has NO SELF RESPECT OR SELF WORTH. Just a walking sex toy. Letting 2 LOSERS USE HER FOR SEX , while the 3rd buys her like she’s cattle. And yet she keeps going back for more. Not sure why she acts all pissy, when she chooses to keep going back for more. All she’d missing is a dog collar. She deserves it all!

Liked the storyline, not the lead

MK is a petulant brat, so I’m glad the male leads were likable. Her constant outbursts and tantrums made this series hard to finish.

The heroine is beyond annoying. She can’t see the forest for the trees!! To dumb to be believable.

Warning Book 4 “Kate” not in Audible -cliffhanger

I just hate this I have invested hours of listing to get to the end of book 3 to have a Major Cliffhanger. I have very bad eyes and can’t read much. So I get audio books. This just pisses me off to know end I spent lots of money on books here the least Audible can do is give us the choice to buy the book or a free listen. I would have bought it!

A whole lot of cray cray takes a frustrating turn!

Where to even begin! Well, the cat's out of the bag now, so it's time to come clean, kiss, and make up OR have lots of hate-sex.

M.K. is really trying on my nerves in this one. She's so self-absorbed, letting anger blind her from common sense. It's a good thing she has Cass to look out for her, help her work out her aggression whilst learning how to protect herself. But let me just say 33 is NOT that old lol. From the tobacco thick grunts and few words, you'd think he was a decade or two older...

Between people attempting to kill her and a crazy stalker fixating her, you would also think she'd learn to be aware of her surroundings and look out for red flags. Ladies, trust your gut instincts! When you meet a few creep-o's and slut-shamers, you don't have to take it. Say what you mean, don't just brush it off or make up BS excuses for them! They should have had their a~sses handed to them a lot sooner. It is not weak to ask for help when you need help. A team of back-up bodyguards wouldn't hurt either.

I really want to know why their security detail sucks. HOW is the stalker so omniscient? I would be super paranoid if that were the case. Like when the door to the pool opens...WTF? Or why would Dallas leave just to hang out with her given the circumstances? SMDH. Why is the heroine not using any critical thinking skills? She's got too much dick on the brain. I'm not shaming her per se... she can do both. It's not like they're mutually exclusive lol.

With all that said, I'm dying to know how the story finishes. I need the next book like yesterday!
