Publisher's Summary

I’m the oldest of all the Dixon boys.

Yeah, that family.

And, yeah, that Dixon. The one with a notorious temper and devastating fists.

My family tried everything short of giving up on me, but there’s only one person who can calm me.

Savannah Riley Dixon.

Girl next door. My best friend.

Sweeter than honey and stronger than whiskey. And the answer to my enraged soul.

From the moment she came skipping onto our ranch when we were kids, I knew she was my future - my everything.

One touch, the fire in me cools.

One kiss, that rage melts away.

But the girl who’s stood by my side through brawls, cop cars, and kids of our own warned me years ago: One more fight, and she’s gone.

For her, I’d do anything.

I’d lower my fists. I’d rein it all in. I’d stop the damn world.

But when someone threatens our marriage, all I see is red.

Lots of angst

If you’re an anxious person then this one may not be for you, I was beyond anxious for most of the book but I stuck it out and I’m glad I did. The male narrator is excellent. The female narrator made it a bit hard for me to stay in the story as she always has a strange uptick at the end of each sentence, sort of like she’s reporting the evening news. Overall, I enjoyed the story

Loved It

This is my favorite of the series! Getting insight on Beau and Savannah's history and love was wonderful. My heart broke for both of them and all they struggle through. I love the fact that they let love blossom and pull them through the struggles. My heart continually broke for Beau and the way he was treated by people in school and in town, and how he believed all he was told

A highly recommended listen. the Narration was outstanding as well ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

OMG

Brooding is an apt name for the series, loved every minute of it, between the hurt, pain, angst and abundant love and humour it is another must listen to. Both narrators did a superb job of bringing the listener right into the story. 15⭐️

Tear Jerking. Love it.

I wasn’t sure about this next book in the series as book 3 was horrible.

Wasn’t going to even listen to it. But I was curious as to what Beau’s life will turn out to be. And was hoping that the Dixon family can come together and be a family again.
I wanted a happy ending. I wanted The brothers to be a family and I wanted Beau to end up with the life he deserves, not the life he thinks he deserves.

Lots didn’t like this one. For some reason felt Beau’s pain. The man has a heart of gold, and if his wife and children are in danger he will turn into papa bear to protect them. How can that be wrong. Maybe they couldn’t relate with Beau. I did for some reason. And I felt for him, my heart broke every time someone thought he was the bad man when he really was the good man.

Keeping secrets no matter how big or small is never a good thing, we know that and yet sometimes we get tricked or convinced by others to keep them. If your heart is saying tell then tell. Don’t let manipulative Madison ruin your life. (One of the reasons I didn’t like the last book)

Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon were amazing as usual. They complement each other so well. Two of my favorites for sure.

This book was definitely worth getting. It makes me feel better that the last one wasn’t that good. As a matter fact I didn’t even finish it. I might finish it one day.
