Publisher's Summary

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is Chicago's only openly practicing wizard. He is also dead broke. His vast knowledge and magical skills are unfortunately matched by his talent for making powerful enemies and alienating friends. With little more than his integrity left, he accepts an offer of work from Lt. Karin Murphy of Chicago's Special Investigations Unit. He wants to redeem himself in Murphy's eyes and make enough money to quiet his rumbling stomach.

Soon he finds himself pinned between trigger-happy FBI agents, shape-shifiting motorcycle gang members, a threatened mobster boss, and an heir to an ancient curse along with his primal fiance. Throw in environmental activists and a pair of young werewolves in love and you have something of Fool Moon.

Good Read

Struggled a bit st the beginning - a little drab with the narration, but it got better. overall pretty good, and added the rest of the Dryden series to my wish list 😁

amazing narrative!

it is Jim Butcher at his usual best. there are no more positive words I can use to describe such a well rounded and believable story. See I have used these words many times before and now it is just boring, I will have to make up new words like the story line is "beroundable". LOL we will have to start a Dresden dictionary.

Entertaining though not spectacular

Very well read. Story was entertaining but sometimes painful or predictable, it really clubs you over the head with the theme. Still a good fun read.

Early work, but shows promise.

Most people will tell you to start on Book 3 of the series, if you don't have a preference; but this book does a lot of world building that you'd end up having to go back for later anyway.

It's a little clunky, but it's only the second book in a series that was started on a bet; so take it for what it is. It gets it's legs under it in the third book, and it runs from there.
