Publisher's Summary

No one knows if Steel is dead or alive...except me.

For months I kept the late night calls from Steel a secret, until he let it slip that he tracked down his villainous sister, Silver. He needs help - even if the powerful angel-shifter is too stubborn to admit it.

But the Steel I find isn’t the same boy from Seraph Academy. He’s darker. Haunted. And the distance between us can’t be crossed by a simple flap of my wings.

When a battle with the Forsaken goes horribly wrong, I awaken as a prisoner inside a Fallen stronghold. My enigmatic abductor - Thorne - is manipulative, secretive, and claiming I’m meant to rule by his side.

I’m not buying it, especially since the alluring offer to unveil the mystery of my seraph ancestry comes at the cost of bringing every Nephilim to their knees.

Lines between the realms will blur. My world will burn. And this time, I’m not sure I can fight the darkness on my own...

Even better than the first

Adam and Vanessa just knock it out of the park! I absolutely adore these characters, and having them brought to life, just makes it even better. Steel is missing, determined to find his sister, and Emberly is the only one he semi-talks to (if it can even be called that, up to a point). This takes you on a wild ride, and gives so many answers to questions remaining from Stealing Embers!! I highly recommend this series! You won't be sorry!

The saga continues

If book one deserves all the stars, then book 2 gets all the stars and then some confetti!!!
This book has all the feels. Emberly and the gang set off to find Steel & answers. This is full of non stop twists & turns with a love to hate Villain and some major bombs being dropped.
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll laugh some more.

So sit back, strap in and enjoy the ride.

Absolutely love this book!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!! Now that this book is out in the world, let me just say that I already gave all the stars to Stealing Embers... So this book gets all the glitter, fairy dust instead! I didn't think I could love this book more than the first one, but I did!

Emberly is the only one who hears from Steel and then the gang comes up with a plan to find him and help him find Silver. When they do, things get pretty interesting. Emberly gets kidnapped, Steel says some pretty amazing things, (seriously... I have a page full of Steel quotes), and the gang does what they do best- try to keep Emberly and Steel out of trouble!

New characters and new places. This book has ALL THE FEELS and then some. You'll love it. Just read it.

Love This Lovely Narrator!

Bless this beautiful book! I'm over the moon about this unputdownable sequel that does not disappoint! I'm feeling all the things and wondering what comes next!

Steel finally earns his redemption and I loved the tender and spicy moments he shares with Emberly. The protective vibes are pulsing pretty heavily and I'm delighted to bask in his presence!

Emberly is a character that you will quickly fall for and her friends have so many endearing qualities. Julie Hall has penned a stunning masterpiece!

The new characters are delightfully sneaky and villainish. You'll cheer to see them brought down. Though there are still many to vanquish! And I'm really looking forward to seeing the Forsaken and Fallen fall.

The twists is this are beautifully foreshadowed, but even so, some will still smack your face.

I'm excited and nervous and ready to read the next book! I need answers and more of these wonderfully written characters.

And can we just praise these gorgeous covers!? I want to stare at them all day! And the character art inside in glorious! There are so many beautiful reasons why you should pick this up! Which ever one grabs you the most, buckle up and enjoy this adventure, it gets dicey and bumpy and dicey and bumpy again!

Buckle in!!

I absolutely love this new series!! Angels and demons, and not knowing who can be trusted. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts. This was a whirlwind of a book and I loved how fast pace it was for me. The worlds that have been created are fun to envision. This was seriously a audiobook that I didn’t want to pause. It was so good!! The narrators Vanessa Moyen and Adam Gold did a wonderful job portraying the characters. They truly being the story to life for me. It’s so easy to distinguish the voices and know who is speaking. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Emberly!

ALL the sass, suspense, & emotion brought 2 life!

Forging Darkness is EVEN BETTER than Stealing Embers! It's a twisty roller coaster ride of adventure and discovery that leaves you breathless by the end.
The intricate world building made me feel like I could "see" the locations, and what was happening, and oh, the wonderful characters! They either had me snort-laughing out loud, biting my nails in dread, wanting to knock some sense into them, or getting the vapors from THE FEELZ!

Emberly's learning to trust and then protect those she deems family. The insights into Steel's character from his point of view, and his chemistry & connection to Emberly, then Sterling, Blaze and Aurora, with their audaciousness, and the love & allegiance of the rest of Emberly's newfound friends...even little Tinkle, are fantastic! Even though I wish there had been more of Tinkle's activities brought to light, like when he vanishes or some of his other escapades, his relationship with one of the others was adorable. (Julie, hint: Tinkle novella?! Wink , wink, want more Tink!)
The new characters, such as the enigmatic Thorne, bring in a whole new level of "what now?!" More exposure to the Fallen and the Forsaken had me cringing for Emberly. And wicked Julie then threw in some convoluted and murky information, but when it starts coming to light, it's just mind blowing!
Head's up, there is a definite hook at the end that had me wanting to throw my reader, after I caught my breath, so be prepared! So need book 3, & it can't get here fast enough! (Though I know Julie Hall should get to bask in her accomplishment first, so no pressure!)

Vanessa Moyen truly brings all the sass & emotion alive, & Adam Gold really makes Steel a larger than life presence! Well done!
