Very good, but may need a break
Very good audio book that is quite important in the series. The only caveat is it can be very uncomfortable to listen to at times. I had to take a weeks break when I was 3/4 of the way through. The Slanesh-ness of it can get you down, or that's what I found anyway.

Disturbing and highly compelling
I never want to be left alone in a room with Graham McNeill. An excellent illustration of not only the fall of the III Legion, but of why anything Slaaneshi never seems to take centre stage in 40k fiction and promotional material anymore. Excellent story and narration, but not for the weak of stomach.

the performance and overall feel of the book was underwhelming, it was too slow of a burn.

Slow start but what a roller coaster
An amazing book following the Emperors Children.
It show what the Emperors Children were doing during the event of the 3 first books of the series. and it covers the events of Isstvan 5.
It flesh out Fulgrim completly and brings life to such a colourful character.
WARNING: for people having issues with self-harm, sexual violence and other similar act may want to read this book in steps as it could be overwhelming.

Somewhat over the top
Good book but it does become somewhat too over the top when an orchestral performance begins turning the listeners to chaos beasts. The ending at Istvan V shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that’s read the books up to here, but the level of depravity the Emperors Children are already fighting with is somewhat shocking.
