Publisher's Summary

New York Admirals captain Scott Hunter takes his pregame rituals very seriously. In this case, it's not just a lucky smoothie he's craving - it's the man who made it.

Pro hockey star Scott Hunter knows a good thing when he sees it. So, when a smoothie made by juice bar barista Kip Grady precedes Scott breaking his on-ice slump, he's desperate to recreate the magic...and to get to know the sexy, funny guy behind the counter.

Kip knew there was more to Scott's frequent visits than blended fruit, but he never let himself imagine being invited back to Scott's penthouse. Or kissed with reckless abandon, never mind touched everywhere all at once. When it happens, it's red-hot, incredible, and frequent, but also only on Scott's terms and always behind his closed apartment doors.

Scott needs Kip in his life, but with playoff season approaching, the spotlight on him is suddenly brighter than ever. He can't afford to do anything that might derail his career...like introducing the world to his boyfriend. Kip is ready to go all-in with Scott - but how much longer will he have to remain a secret?

Narration poor,. story excellent

Narration of Kip really bad. Supposed to be a Brooklyn accent but sounds like a 50 year old idiot. Otherwise great

Nice start to a hockey series!

I enjoyed this one and look forward to diving into the rest of the series. It's a nice easy listen without emotional hand-grenades. The only real angst is centered on the two MC's relationship given that one of them is the Captain of a pro hockey franchise based in NYC and coming out is a risky option. Break-up leads to make-up during the Stanley Cup finals!

I agree with other reviewers that Kip's fake Brooklyn accent from the narrator is an irritation. But by the time I was 10% in I had adjusted to it and it wasn't driving me to stop listening.

It was on sale for $5 so I picked it up and glad I did. Solid 4****.

Terrible Narration

I can't really review the story, because I literally had to stop listening. The character Kip sounds like some mix between Australian and slow... and it turns out he was doing a Brooklyn accent. I can't.

Surprisingly Touching / Disappointing Narration

This isn’t my usual fare, but I enjoyed it despite the OTT sex scenes. Even had tears in my eyes a couple times - it’s a sweet story. Unfortunately, the narration of Kip is distracting and makes him sound like a dolt rather than the bright young guy the author describes. I never could get over it, right to the end, it grated on me. Is it still worth it? Might be better as a read, if you switch it up; otherwise, hopefully the voicing of Kip doesn’t bother you as much as it did me.

Horrible Narration

Absolutely terrible narration couldn’t even finish the book. He makes the characters sound like dumb pirates. I can usually get past poor narration but this was simply ridiculous. Maybe I will try reading the book as the story seemed pretty good itself

Horrible Narration - Ruined the Book

When I finished reading this book, I was SO EXCITED to add the audiobook to my library. I wasted my money. I tried to listen to it several times. Tor Thom makes Kip sound like a 40-year-old idiot. I couldn't even get past the first chapter. Please, please have this re-recorded by Cooper North since he took over the series. I won't even bother trying Heated Rivalry because Thom narrates that one too. Such a disappointment.
