Publisher's Summary

In this original audiobook, best selling author Eckhart Tolle continues to teach us how to let go of the past and future to live in the now. Tolle urges us to shed our mind-based sense of self, enter the portals of the eternal present, and live vividly in the present moment.

He guides us through these gateways: The Gateway of the Inner Body; The Gateway of Silence; and The Gateway of Accepting This Moment. By moving through these openings, we will let the power of now transform our lives and achieve spiritual and psychological enlightenment.

The second half of Gateways to Now is a musical reflection which offers quiet contemplation time; it is a chance to acquire a reflective anchor that intensifies the integration of the listening experience into our lives. The musical reflection features "Resonance" by Jorge Alfano's World Ensemble. Drawing from South America, Africa, Tibet, Japan and Spain, this ensemble creates universal music that crosses all borders and musical styles.

Portals to freedom

This book should be listened to after you listen to the POWER OF NOW. He continues on with learning how to deal with life situations and show you how to live in the now instead of wanting to be in some future moment where you think things will be better. You don't know what the future holds, as your mind usually can always find something to hold you back from doing what you really want. The past may be painful as well, the perceived future is not here yet, SO ALL YOU HAVE IS THE NOW and Eckhard shows you how to make the best of it even if you are in a bad or uncomforatable state of now. Believe me, I did not realize how much of my life I wasted away by not being in the NOW of life but by being burdened with the problems of tomorrow, or trying to to figure out the pain of the past. I was robbing myself of the greatest gift of all, the present moment! The present moment is all you have. I never gave that a thought until I got started listening to Eckhart's books. The thoughts he gives you are like a key that unlocks the door you have been longing to go through. But all the while, not realizing you already have the key within in you to move forward in life while enjoying the present moment. You do not miss out on life, you solve problems, or accept things from the past in order to free yourself from past pain or whatever it is that is holding you back from enjoying the now, this very minute you live. I listen to this audiobook again and again. I am so glad to have found this man and his books. You just need to listen and not figure out what he is trying to say, because the questions and what-if's will be answered later on in the book. This is a truly Excellent book to take with you to help figure out life and how to deal with problems, and STILL HAVE NOW , the present moment to enjoy. I most highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.

Disappointing

The first half is Tolle as good as always but the second part is music to meditate by.Nothing wrong with this but the prospective purchaser should be told.

Sieze the Day

A very abridged version of the wonderful book "The Power of Now". This book talks only of the "Gateways to Now" which is great if you have read the book "The Power of Now", if you haven't then this summary may lack context. It is practical & will provide ideas it just feels a little like a "shag on a rock". If you have read "The Power of Now" then this is a great refresher.

Seriously?

Admire Tolle. He certainly has awakened the spiritual dimension in me; and for that, I am forever grateful. Once you've read A New Earth (and actually implemented it's teachings, especially the 3 modalities of awakened doing), no other book is relatively significant. The man simply speaks from a realm of total truth...Unfortunately, this book is more of a musical, wherby over %50 of the content is actually meditative music??? Could have found that for free on Youtube. Maybe his marketing people need to keep his message pure by focusing less on diluted spin-off merchandising for the purpose of driving revenue.

Stillness is the way. The way is stiffness.

There are endless opportunities to allow the now to be. Find your opportunity, find your gateway in to the now-stillness .

A wonderful book

A great book that I found to be developmental and maturative for a young man coming of age such as myself. I found this book relatable and generally worthwhile to get through. I found this book to be intelligent and I further highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed the book

I enjoyed the book where the author speaks. The music at the end of the book not so much.

Here the author takes you through some very simple techniques to calm and still the mind/inner voice. I liked the teachings and listened to them 3 times over the course of several months. It is a good book.
