Publisher's Summary

Raven Elliot blasts into town like a wrecking ball - striking and devastating. With a few simple words, my reliable routine crumbles to dust. "Is this seat taken?" I could close my eyes and let her voice wrap around me like a lover's caress. But this isn't that type of story. And I'm sure as hell not that kind of man.

She hovers in my space, batting her lashes and smiling shyly. The glimmer in her sapphire eyes is a promise of peace. But I'm not falling for it. And Raven doesn't take the hint.

What starts as a battle of wills, explodes into a turf war. She stands directly in my path everywhere I turn. No matter how hard I shove, she won't budge. Raven seems dead set on driving me insane. But I was here first. And I'm not going down easy. After all, no one ever taught me how to treat a lady.

Contains mature themes.

AN OK STORY.. BUT NEW ADULT

This book was pretty good but it’s definitely a NA story.. after finishing College Raven goes to Garden Grove to work with her best friend in her thriving Coffee Shop.. but, in the bar where these ex roomies agree to meet, sits unsociable Trey.. he’s a handsome manwhore who is emotionally broken and has closed his heart to love. Raven’s first to arrive - she’s a stranger in this small town and Trey’s anything but welcoming.. misunderstandings, heated words and assumptions follow. Unfortunately, their first meeting hadn’t gone well.. nor does their second, third, fourth or fifth where the verbal bullets continue to fly. However, Raven’s patience, determination, understanding and deep-rooted attraction to this dirty-talking sexy Mechanic, slowly steers their animosity-filled encounters into calmer waters. Trey’s attraction to Raven is cramping his sex life and he thinks one time with her will get her out of his system.. but Raven’s hoping for forever.. even though Trey has always made his feelings on relationships clear.. absolutely no promises, clearly no labels and definitely no happy endings. So, will Raven be content to leave it at lust.. or will she gamble her heart for love?

Trey’s outspoken, obnoxious, rude and unashamed of his manwhore bad-boy reputation.. after all he deserves it - but you know his carefree bravado hides a broken soul who deserves to be saved. Raven’s no angel.. but she holds on, endures and hopes her love will heal Trey’s damaged heart. Their enemies-to-lovers rollercoaster journey starts off with feisty barbed encounters, heated glares, simmering chemistry and tentative touches which acts as kindling.. as foreplay.. because, once these two kiss, passion and sexy times ensue. But how long will it last?

Worth a credit? Hummmm.. well the dual POV storyline was entertaining.. but it was also a wee bit superficial, predictable and I really didn’t want a NA listen. I loved Nelson Hobbs narration but (sorry) Lauren Sweet’s voice jarred. So it’s a 50/50 shrug I’m afraid - it wasn’t bad and I won’t be asking for my credit back.. however, I wouldn’t have initially purchased it if I’d known it was NA.

Harloe Rae is a new author to me and I enjoyed this frenemies to lovers romance. Raven and Trey both mature as their relationship develops. Raven’s insecurity and tendency to run from her problems were kinda a sore spot with me as well as Trey’s selfishness, arrogance and whorish ways. However, facing hard truths brought them both their HEA! Although their situation resolved itself a bit too quickly because let’s face it, nobody learns a lesson overnight. Still a good story! Both narrators were new to me as well and were great overall. I had to warm up to them a bit. 👍🏽

Dirty n Raven

I read the book and loved it. I listed to to audible version now. I seem to pick ups things i missed in the book. It also made the drive to work more enjoyable. The narrators voices were soothing. I could listen to them all day. they did a great job in switching parts.

Didn't quite do it for me

I was hopeful for this book, especially with it being a sort of enemies to lovers type read, but I don't think it hit its mark. Gent was alright. I liked the characters well enough, I just had a hard time with their relationship. Maybe it wasn't believable enough or I didn't feel as connected to them as I would have liked to, but I just couldn't get into the story all that much. Its your typical broody, asshole local boy who sleeps with tons of women and he happens to meet the sweet new girl in town and she can't help but want him. Gent had potential, it just didn't do it for me.

The narration was good. I liked them well enough. It have been because I couldn't get all that into the story, but I would definitely like to listen to them narrate other books.
