Publisher's Summary

If one George Carlin audio is funny, then two are funnier and three must be funniest, right? That's our thinking behind this new collection. It's a HighBridge library of laugh-out-loud, award-winning recordings featuring George himself performing many of his best bits. The set includes:

Brain Droppings
Acerbic observations, manic musings, in-your-face questions, witty word play, and more "droppings" from Carlin's singular brain. "I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed." "Why are there no recreational drugs taken in suppository form?" The first Carlin book on audio and a 2001 Grammy winner.

Napalm & Silly Putty
Carlin invents Past-Tense TV (Got Smart, Father Knew Best, It Was Left to Beaver); crusades for the Center for Research into the Heebie Jeebies; founds the George Carlin Book Club (recommended reading: Fill Your Life with Croutons); and suggests that "If the shoe fits, get another just like it." A 2002 Grammy winner.

More Napalm & Silly Putty
Everything that wouldn't fit on the first Napalm recording - like "A Day in the Life of Henry VIII", "Sports Should Be Fixed", compelling confessions ("I couldn't commit suicide if my life depended on it"), and candid takes on life's little moments ("I'm beyond the nice day"), all delivered with wicked glee.

Good Read (Think of this as a joke book)

Love it. Can only give 3 stars for story cause there's no story at all.

Thoroughly Enjoyed It

Easy listen. Feels like a conversation. I found myself audibly laughing even though I was home alone

Lots of good laughs

Good value, you get three of his books with many familiar jokes, rearranged and retold in an amusing way

Nostalgic but didn't age well.

I grew up with George Carlin. I always liked George Carlin. Some things are better left remembered. Listening to this was nostalgic, and some of it was amusing. A lot of the comedy didn't age well. A rant about people wearing walkmans for example. Yes I guess you could translate it to people on their phones, but only for the listening to music part. Overall it very much had the feel of an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawn while professing he didn't care about the lawn. Probably the most recent comment was about George Bush, which make sense since Carlin died in 2008. Some of it was amusing, none of it was laugh out loud funny. An ok listen if you like George Carlin or have any interest in 1970's counterculture comedians

I miss George!

I like listening to this while I'm on my lunch break at my job that I absolutely hate. It lowers my anxiety and reminds me to be less serious.

Loved it but...

Carlin is amazing but the music is terrible. The music was so annoying that diminished the overall quality of the audiobook.

Scattershot thoughts from a great comedian

While some of the material will be familiar to people who have seen his standup, George Carlin's little bundle is a great collection of clever, creative snippets with bits lasting anywhere from a few seconds to about ten minutes. His vocal performance is perfect, and really places the audio versions of these books above the written ones. #audible1

Classic George Carlin - emphasis on classic

I have always loved Goerge's sarcasm, wit, in your face and profane perspective. As you laugh at the way he makes fun of us, you often realise he's right. Generally, we carry on after such insults and mocking comments. Funny how that is... apathy is an interesting thing.

These stories are mostly outdated, however, there are some bits n pieces that continue to this day (hooray apathy!)

Pick it up for a good laugh at yourself. You'll be glad ya did.

More old George Carlin Bits

Just George Carlin repeating his famous bits and read aloud by Carlin himself. Love Carlin, love hearing him read his routines, but a lot of the jokes I’ve heard so many times that the whole thing felt tired. Jokes tend to get less funny the more times you hear them. Also, Carlin’s brand of wordplay and play on words tends to get a little old and predictable after an hour or so.
