Girl woman other
The story was engaging and insightful, objective in its portrayal of the generations it portrayed. The performer was incredible, each character enhanced with her vocal ability. I will recommend this book!

Seductive and Layered
It was a slow burn that never scorches, but seduces with so many layers. While the 1st layer is often loud and brash, the other subsequent layers are quietly subversive. Well done Ms Evaristo🔥🔥🔥

Invigorating and Captivating
I thoroughly enjoyed this booked - discovered by a recommendation on TikTok! Love the way the characters are interconnected, the 6 degrees of separation and the ways in which each one’s social identity (race, gender identity and expression, class, etc) is shaped under the larger umbrella of white supremacy and patriarchy. And I did not see or predict the end!!!

An absolute reread
I am glad I went for this one. An absolute reread. I learned a lot, enjoyed the characters, how they connected and who they were individually. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

A interesting story
It Atfirst I found the story line strange andconfusing, but I kept listening and then the character took on a lovely continuing story of different intriguing women

Great book, captivating narrator
This was my first time reading a Bernardine Evaristo book. And I REALLY enjoyed it, especially the way the story linked each character to the one in the chapter before and/or after the other. The intersection of the key themes - culture, gender, women, society, sexual orientation, immigration, social circles, and family resonated with me and made me think of my own experiences as a young, South Asian, woman and about the women in my life, their struggles, sacrifices, accomplishments and experiences.
I highly recommend this book. Even though peoples’ lives intersect so much each person has their own unique story, struggle and experiences to share, and this book is a reminder of that.
The narrator was great, I was captivated throughout the entire audiobook.

Extraordinary
A fascinating novel, interweaving multiple story lines and characters through various time periods in Britain. It's a raw, honest portrayal of women's experiences in this world, from varying perspectives. Immensely enjoyable and engaging.

This book. is so good. it's like if the movie Crash were centered around a bunch of girls, women, others... it's so clever and just great. I loved the queer representation too!
