great legionnares
ok, so let me start out by saying I have loved all galaxy edge/spinoffs of this series so far and given 5 stars to all of them. Although I've never been a huge fan of how the writers go about the character cromethus and found those parts of the books somewhat repetitive and mind bowlingly numbing to follow even with the ideas it trying to portray being important and useful to the story's, I still find it painful to follow. if you love that style then you will absolutely love this book. However, if you are like me and want a nice taste of action filled chaos, it might be a pain to get through. I seriously struggle myself to push and finish the gods section of the book and very nearly just skipped it on multiple occasions. With that said, the legionnairs section of this book is a perfect continuation of what galaxys edge is best known for and I love it for that. it's amazing to get more info on the creation of the legion, KTI, and especially Rex+ sullas relationship together.

Interesting idea with uneven execution
This book is a big departure narrartively from the other galaxys edge books. The majority of the book follows Savage marine Crometheus and the way its written may not be for everyone. You get some interesting savage lore but you'll have to sift through a ton of repetitive rambling that reads like you told Chatgpt to narrate the mind of a soldier with dementia that only frames things with pop culture references. That would be fine in small doses but it's basically the first 10 hours of the book and feels like the same story beat over and over.

Skip this book in the series
If you have read book one and was excited by it you’ll be eager to rebook two . However, don’t do it!
This book is all filler. It describes characters and military training that doesn’t add to the overall story arc. Do you wanna understand the Savages? Then knock yourself out reading the non-linear, random, self talk, the main character does for over half the book. I skipped 3 chapters and DID NOT miss anything significant ! In the end, only a chapter worth of information is useful for the overall series story arc. They could have put this info in book one or three. But hey, authors make money selling books...
If you skip this book it wouldn’t affect your enjoyment of the series. The only good news was I was able to return it and get my Audible credit back.

Not up to the usual standard
If you love stream-of-consciousness writing with little to no plot development, read in a style best described as "tipsy British aristocrat", this is the book for you.
However, even then chapters 2-4 will likely feel too much like a sticky drug flash-back.
Pity, since his other books I've read have been great reads.

Hardest of the new series to listen to.
Way to much existential pondering made this a hard listen. First 3/4 of God's was a chore. Thankfully picked up at the end and Legionnaires half was sold good. Will keep listening to these books.Stephen Lang is really growing in the series.
