Publisher's Summary

If society collapsed, could you survive?

When Morgan Carter's car breaks down 250 miles from his home, he figures his weekend plans are ruined. But things are about to get much, much worse: The country's power grid has collapsed. There is no electricity, no running water, no Internet, and no way to know when normalcy will be restored - if it ever will be.

An avid survivalist, Morgan takes to the road with his prepper pack on his back. During the grueling trek from Tallahassee to his home in Lake County, chaos threatens his every step but Morgan is hell-bent on getting home to his wife and daughters - and he'll do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Fans of James Wesley Rawles, William R. Forstchen's One Second After, and The End by G. Michael Hopf will revel in A. American's apocalyptic tale.

Eye opening, educational and entertaining.

Lots of great stuff in this one. New perspectives and new ways things could go down to add to my mental files for layer reference and use. Great performance.

Fantastic

Best book I’ve read on the SHTF TEOTWAWKI subject. The intensive detail he goes into the gear is something preppers enjoy, it’s a big part of the hobby or lifestyle and paints a vast picture into the character themselves from what they carry. It’s all based on actual gear and people reading might be able to relate to the gear Morgan carries. Maxpedition pouches, big berkey, esse knives etc. I personally enjoy that writing style a lot. I understand it might be might numbing to some people but for people interested and active in prepping it’s fantastic.

nice easy listen.

sometimes a little confusing when the narrator does not pause at all when the story switches from one character to another character in a different situation.

Simply Amazing.

I have just finised the 7th book and am about to start the 8th. This is definitely my favourite series of books. If you are any kind of a prepper/survivalist and love a good story, you definitely need to listen to these. Along with a excellent story, there is useful information on survival. And even if you're not, this series has an great story with amazing characters that bring everything together. Duke Fontaine is an amazing narrator and his voice fits this role perfectly. He changes his voice for alot of the characters and I often know who's talking before he even says it. This would make a excellent TV series aswell.
