Publisher's Summary

Even a demigoddess must have a weakness.

On the run from the coven she used to call home, Harley Merlin knows that Katherine’s power and influence are spreading like a poison. And she has no doubt that Katherine will follow through with her promise to torture and kill her friends, one by one.

Then Harley discovers that the key to her enemy’s undoing might be hiding in a familiar place - her parents' grimoire. With Finch, Wade, and Garrett by her side, Harley vows to steal Hester and Hiram’s final gift.

Liar. Rebel. Jail breaker. Why not add "thief" to the list?

Meanwhile, Jacob senses trouble brewing in the San Diego Coven, with their friends imprisoned and Levi’s thirst for power spiraling out of control. Amid the chaos, the magical detector is on the verge of completion, and Jacob meets a human girl who makes his heart race. But Katherine has plans for him. Oh yes, does she have plans....

Very disappointed

The author really submitted a poor story. the entire story was only about 40 chapters and left me feeling short-changed. the story contained few magical fight scenes that we're of interest. the whole point if this book was to set up the final book.

Amazing book full of twists and turns!

I absolutely love this series it's so full of switches and twist and. turns you never know what you will get. the charechters are so well writen you can tell when someone starts acting funny or somethings wrong.

I also love the narrator, for me the narrator either makes or breaks the story. she does such a good job with all the different voices for all the different characters.

Can't wait for the rest of them.

Seriously addictive series

Bella Forrest may be hit and miss with her other series but she is nothing but 10/10 and solid gold when it comes to the Harley Merlin series. Even as a big kid/grownup, I can’t get enough of the combo of her writing and Amanda Ronconi’s narration. I may even have to go back and listen to the previous books again while waiting for the next to come out in audio...I am almost too spoiled to actually read them they are just that good!

Really enjoyed this series when I first started it

It just keeps going on and on and on! I want to get to the END! It's infuriating that Catherine continues to gain the upper hand over and over and over and over! It's annoyingly disappointing!

More Filler Than Plot Progression

I’ve enjoyed these books and the characters have been well written. However, this book did not seem necessary in the whole scheme. There was a lot of unnecessary exposition and too many pointless scenes.

Aggravation at every turn

Poor plot progression, unexplainable plot twists for the sake of drawing out a 5 book series to 9 books. Will not waste more credits on the last 2 books. I’ve had it with this one. Emma Jean is Katherine? It’s not even a clever twist, it’s just stupid. All to draw out the final confrontations.
