I love Pippa Grant books - they are laugh out loud, make me pee my pants funny and I'm here for every minute of it...this one however, just wasn't that for me.

While I absolutely loved Viktor and thought he was sexy and swoony with his British accent and euphemisms, it was Peach and especially Papaya that I just couldn't get on board with. I really didn't like Papaya and I thought she was such a brat and I really wanted to spank her! While I loved that Peach wanted to give Papaya a better life than she had, I just thought she should have showed more discipline in dealing with her little sister.

Maybe if it was just Peach and Viktor without her little sister in the mix I might like this a little more. There were too many over the top antics in this story to really keep me into it.

I enjoyed the supporting characters and visiting with some favorites from other books I enjoyed.

I loved the narration though. I did think that Stephen Dexter & Emma Wilder did a great job together and I will definitely look for more from them.

This story had such potential, I could even understand Peach for her hesitation about Victor, but Papaya ruined the whole thing. She was never punished for her horrible behaviour so while Peach claimed to want to raise her half-sister, she never really tried to discipline her but covered for her, allowed her rudeness, her tantrums and took the easiest ways out from teaching her how to be empathetic, polite and caring about anyone else’s feelings. She repeatedly said she wanted to be independent and take care of her own problems but she just walked away from them when her nightmare of a sister got into serious trouble. It was weak writing that Papaya’s major misbehaviours was the same act coming and going. By the end, I wanted to tell Peach to just shut the fuck up. I could even forgive the idea of a country whose theme is love, but the Papaya character was too much. I regret using two credits on purchasing other the books by this author. At least Papaya convinced Peach to go back.
