Publisher's Summary

Meditation makes you more productive because it lets you earn back time. For each minute you spend meditating, you'll earn around nine minutes back, as Chris Bailey - author of The Productivity Project and Hyperfocus - will show in this candid and counter-intuitive guide to the productivity benefits of meditation.

How to Train Your Mind digs deep into the practical, tactical benefits of a meditation practice - and how to integrate a meditation ritual into your own life. In addition to calming your mind and allowing you to slow down in an overanxious world, research shows that meditation can de-stimulate your mind so you can think more clearly, procrastinate less, and be more effective at everything you do - at work and at home.

Featuring guided meditations designed to fit your busy, unpredictable schedule, How to Train Your Mind is the ideal guide for anyone looking to improve productivity without sacrificing time. While much has been written about the spiritual and intangible benefits of meditation, as far as our productivity is concerned, meditation is in a league all its own.

To the point advice on how to start a meditation practice

I love the simplicity of this book and how to implement a meditation practicing your life just simply focus on your breathing and if your thoughts wander just gently return to focusing on your breathing, this is a must read for those that need meditation and everybody needs to meditate

Straight forward

Very little repetition of points like I've heard in other books. Lays steps out in a very doable and understandable way.

Cranbrook!!

I found this introduction rather captivating and easy to follow and understand, but then you brought up my childhood hometown, Cranbrook, and oh boy did I ever chuckle!
this audio was like listening to a friend speak, relaxing. and before I even realized it, I was the most energized and productive I'd been in weeks getting my home organized.
Brilliant and Engaging and Entertaining !

Pause!

This was so good! Taking a step back from work and making time for myself has been a bit of a challenge but this book was a fantastic listen and hopefully some good direction of where I need to go. My only advice as you listen is to do the meditation throughout. Pause it if you need to. Highly recommend!

good primer on mediation

Chris does an excellent job of simplifying meditation for beginners and those disinterested in it as a spiritual practice, focusing on the production and health aspects exclusively, with some humor.

Very Interesting and Informative!

I really enjoyed this book. It really helped me, understand how meditation works and how to meditate. I have tried meditation in the passed, but have given up. As I did not fully understand what it was, that I was doing. I will listen to this book again, as I know, I will be able to learn more from it. I highly recommend this book!!

Perfection

Perfect tone, balance, delivery and content. no sales pitch, no over-sincerity, no ego or agenda. no fluff or systemic spiritual bias. this was the ideal introduction to the topic, for me. grateful for this.

Highly recommended

For years, I have started then stopped meditating because I either saw the beni fits and did not feel like continuing as the benefits at the time were enough or had just too little success to do it.

This book also shows how meditation is part of being productivity and that they are correlated especially if the readers do knowledge work such as IT, desk jobs, management roles which are usually repetitive.
