Description

Hudson:

Don't ever accidentally propose to your girlfriend. In front of her family. Especially if her dad is your boss. Because when you make it clear you've made a mistake, he's likely to send you out of the country to get you as far away from his brokenhearted daughter as possible.

It happened to me. Now I'm stuck in Ireland trying to redeem myself so I can get promoted and have the life I've planned for: successful career, loving wife and kids, a comfortable, financially secure home life in Texas.

But all of that seems to evaporate the moment I walk into the historic pub and see the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. Only, he's not a woman.

Charlie Murray is most definitely a man - the kind of man who causes me to take a second look for the first time in my life. And a third look, and a fourth. I can't help but want to get to know him better...to get close to him, touch him, maybe even kiss him. But I'm straight. Or so I've always thought. Even if I'm not, how in the world could a feisty Irishman ever fit into the safe, predictable life for which I've always planned?

Charlie:

Don't ever accidentally fall for the straight guy. Especially when he's trying to pry your family's business right out from under you. I should know. Because when Hudson Wilde walks into my family's pub and begins babbling so adorably, I can't help but fall just a little bit in love. But I'm looking for Forever Man, and the sexy American is certainly not him. He's so confused about what he wants, even choosing something from the dinner menu throws him into a fuddle. But those eyes...how can I resist?

So maybe I’ll give in. One steamy night before he heads home and I go back to life at the pub. We'll never see each other again.

Until, of course, his business deal sends me to Hobie, Texas, right into the middle of Hudson's steady life, more gay Wildes than can fit on a dance floor, and an ex-girlfriend who may or may not be content remaining an ex.

But the more time I spend with Hudson, the more I think he might be my Forever Man after all. And I may be his. Is it possible we could both be so lucky?

This book is a four leaf clover!

As always the story is amazing. I feel like this time the these two guys compliment each other. Hudson is the traditional straight passing guy. All american guy hotness.
Charlie is a bit 'feminine' and deceiving at first glace. Although Charlie this just as masculine the strong but with a smaller body frame and much longer luxurious hair.
I love how sweet and lovestruck they are to each other. It nice to have gay love stories that isn't what I'm experiencing in the real world; reject by traditions' and society's hateful hetero-normative rules and laws.
This why I love stories like this from time to time like Lucy Lennox's story.
Nice and Sweet: yes, maybe slight cheesy at times but I think in a good way. The whole story felt like a warm sweet hug against cold rejection of the real world. It a nice escape; A place to breath even just for a moment.

I already love Micheal Dean so much from numerous the other authors' books. However the more I listen to him throught out this series the more I am awestruck than I previously think possible.
Micheal Dean is absolutely someone special. The way he make these two characters alive and seem to be narrated by two separate person is just outstanding.
The way his voice orchestrated emotions through dialogue of the whole story to life is just fantastic. Truly one man army.

Wow it's an impressive story

Michael Dean has incredible range of voices I am truly in awe of the man

When it came to Lucy's Note at the end it mentions Michael (somebody else) instead of Michael Dean as the narrator it has happened in 2 of the story's of her's I can't remember the other one

It also mentions that stories available in audio soon after the release of the books but some partial books are not available on audio

Anyway a great listen to most who might like gay romance stories

I hope Lucy never runs out of material or new ideas that create worlds like

Aster Valley
Made Marion series
Wilde series

Thank you Very much to both Michael Dean and Lucy Lennox

My reviews hopefully do not include or give away any of the plot or story line ...
...be surprised

Wisdom and Luck

Hudson and Charlie are men of fate. If Hudson hadn't been dumped by Darcy, talked to the elderly lady on the plane (WAS THAT TILY???) who made him question himself, he may never have taken that extra notice of Charlie when he went to the bar. He may have brushed it off, or reminded himself he was in a committed relationship, and we may not have been blessed with the lovely story that was Charlie and Hudson falling in love.

The depth of each of these characters that Lucy was able to create was one of my favourite parts of this story. I always enjoy when an author takes the characters out of their comfort zone, and this is especially stirring with Hudson who both needs things just so and hates flying. Hudson has so many layers; he is both honest but tentative in what he says, not because of wanting to hide things but because he does like to do anything without a meticulous plan. Charlie is a lovely creature who is both proud and embracing of his masculinity but also his femininity. His love for his family and culture shine throughout this story in his mannerisms, songs he sings when no ones is looking and in how he interacts with people.

The author describes Ireland and the history of the pub in a way that makes the reader feel like we are experiencing the fresh air and the smells with the characters. The tour felt authentic in its information without being too much and still inserted opportunity for the characters to get to know one another and get in some playful back and forth.

As always Lucy has a wonderful world built around a large rowdy family in a small town in Texas. The emphasis on LGBT social issues and internalized oppression where it pertains to labels and self expression was realistic and imperative. One would think Hudson especially would have no issues coming to terms with and admitting to others about being queer. A huge misconception of the LGBT community and those being raised in LGBT friendly homes is that homosexuality and the like is contagious so bringing that to light in the story was brilliantly done.

The ending was beautifully romantic, and butterfly enducing! Lucy definitely has a way with the big gesture and creating romantic moments. In addition we are given a little glance of the coming story between Stevie and his silver fox. yum. Lucy gave each chapter something special with a little piece of personal reflection at the start of every chapter.

Michael Dean. Is there even need for more? ;) Michael brings an element to the story and I think we all know what that element is. CHARLIE. His Irish lilt was to die for. I never knew something like an Irish "feck" could do it for me. His way with story telling captures the listeners in a way that pulls them into the story and makes it near impossible to put down. You are drawn to the Drawl from all the Hobie Texan's and the story comes to life with all the tones and expressions throughout spoke and inner speech.

Over all this is a lovely addition to the Made Marian/Forever Wilde series! Can I give any more stars? I definitely would.

Not The Greatest

I have a few complaints, but there was one big one that put me off of this book. Honestly, this story could have really worked, but what persistently bothered me was Hudson's constant insistence that he was straight. I realize that for some people it's difficult to accept, but this just wasn't written well enough to be taken that way. I felt badly for Charlie; he didn't deserve the garbage that Hudson put him through.

In general, I enjoy Michael Pauley's narration, but this book didn't work for me. The Irish accent felt off, but Hudson's parts were great.

I won't be reading any more books in this series.

Great performance and story

I really enjoyed this story. The 2 MCs have great chemistry. The storyline is interesting, the romance is cute and there's some humor thrown in. I like the old ladies from Made Marian making an appearance in the beginning

Michael did an amazing job. He's my favorite narrator. He has a great voice and performs scenes perfectly. You can feel the emotion in his voice. I've heard others complain that he doesn't alter his voice between characters in other books and that is true, it just never bothered me. Those people will be happy to know that in this book he uses an Irish accent for Charlie and a country accent for Hudson and plays the females and elder men very distinctive and well done.
