hmmm?

Normally I love JP's work, keeping me guessing and on my toes; introducing new settings outside the USA, broadening my world and perspective. Normally, I like this narrator, very much.
This time, however, found it all fell a bit flat. Oh sure, I enjoyed it. But, it just wasn't up to the normal rock'em-sock'em standard I so enjoy. I suppose that is inevitable when one is as prolific as JP. I could hardly come up with as many plots and twists and scenarios.
Unlike Toys, and Humans Bow Down, though, the Detective Mystery Thrillers appear to be blending into a karki camouflage of varying hues. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I wait for the day another Zoo, or likewise off the wall format, comes to life through the quill of JP and his cohorts.

I have read a lot of James Patterson’s detective series novels

I found it a little hard to follow seemed a little disjointed and took me a while to figure out the plit.

Subpar with a shaky plot line.

I've always been a massive James Patterson fan since I was in my teens (it's been awhile). Since he started co-writing with different authors I feel the quality of the newer books have been subpar and I'm constantly disappointed. Trust me, I TRY to like the books, a valiant effort is always maintained. The story lacked substance and character development. The synopsis paints this intricate story that doesn't ever seem to materialize. The person reading the story doesn't help either. I DO love the accent, it's beautiful. However, the reader never makes any of the feeling/emotions known and in the end it's a mishmash of what could have been a really great read/listen.
