Publisher's Summary

Rebecca Keane has it all figured out. With a successful career as an Army surgeon and a fresh promotion to lieutenant colonel, she loves her life leading a surgical team. Even if that life means she’s spent years hiding her sexuality and ignoring her desires under the Army’s "don’t ask, don’t tell" policy. Then Captain Sabine Fleischer’s arrival sets off an attraction that cracks Rebecca’s carefully cultivated armor and brings about fresh complications.

As Sabine’s direct commanding officer, Rebecca knows she cannot act on her attraction, but that knowledge does nothing to squash her desires. Unable to keep her thoughts about the alluring other woman under control, Rebecca resigns herself to years of censoring her thoughts and feelings until Sabine’s time in the Army is done. She’s spent decades suppressing parts of herself for her job, so what’s a few more years?

But as Rebecca and Sabine work closely together on Army bases in Afghanistan and the States, the undeniable sparks between them begin to ignite. And despite Rebecca’s constant self-censure, her denials and her knowledge of every obstacle standing between them, her resolve crumbles with each passing day. But when the consequences of your love run deeper than just breaking one of the unbreakable rules of the military, you risk losing more than just your heart.

If I Don’t Ask is the must-hear story telling Rebecca’s side of E. J. Noyes’ best-selling Ask, Tell.

The Other side of the story

If you have listened to Ask Tell, Ask me again, then it’s a no-brainer that you are going to love it too.

There are 2 sides to every story and this beautifully crafted story is from the delightful point of view of Dr Rebecca Keane. It is great to see the scenes through her eyes and get some more background and history of the character.

If you haven’t read any of EJ Noyes books then crawl from under the rock you have been living under and catch up!

Now I’m off to listen to Ask Tell again, I’m interested to do so with my insider knowledge!

As always Abby Crasen brings the characters to life with her wonderful narration.

great story

loved this, getting Rebecca's side makes it much more interesting with both their POV. Abby Craden great as always with different voices for each person, always great to have the same person narrate the same story.

Loved it!

I own every E.J. Noyes audiobook there is and can say without a doubt that E.J. Noyes + Abby Craden = magic! You can't go wrong with this or any of the other books in the Ask, Tell series! 100% worth a listen, it's really nice to hear more of the history between Sabine and Rebecca and experience many of the events of Ask, Tell from Rebecca's perspective.
As with all E.J. Noyes books, I highly recommend it!!

sequence perfect

loved how the sequence of this book had Rebecca's POV at the end. i wondered if others thought as well as i did how perfect was it to hear Rebecca's perspective on the story. Her character makes you think if there is anyone in this world like her. she's unbelievably amazing.

i loved the whole series though i haven't heard "if the shoe fits" yet its totally next on my list. amazing easily relatable story and i wont be surprised if this will be the first audiobook I'd be listening again maybe more than twice.

Ej noyes did it again. and abby craden still is phenomenal. loved it is will be an understatement.
