I liked the story, Robyn Carr develops rich characters that are recognizable, they are flawed and like us. I looked forward to listening again and again excellent narration!

One of the things that I truly enjoy in Robyn's stories, other than the well-drawn MCs, strong FMCs and interesting supporting characters, is that she doesn't normally do the insta-love trope. This was hard to finish - I was bored, didn't really care about the characters - not enough story.

Big fan of Robyn Carr, but this one felt unsatisfying

I don’t. I loved it in parts, but overall didn’t. The story could’ve been so much better, so much more likeable main character, and so much more feel good. Main character is a few fries short of a happy meal. Too proud for her and her kids goods. Why make a feel good book and make it not feel good? Anyways, narrator is awesome as always. But I’m going to take a break from this author after listening to this book. Narrator does their voices pretty consistent. But the end where narrator is reading preview of another book using Aunt Flo’s voice was way too fast and way too annoying. So I’m taking a break from the narrator too. I really do wish I could give 5 stars everything. And moments of the book made me feel that. But based on its entirety, I have to be honest. It could’ve and should’ve been done differently. Even some minor tweeks would’ve given it 5 stars everything. But the lack of those tweeks, and the pride and stupidity of the main character to the point you don’t like her even more as the story goes on, leaves me wondering if I should’ve given it such high a rating. It’s not a book to hate, and it’s worth the read, but it’s so frustrating and doesn’t even give that relief you need at the end, still just doesn’t climax and end as I’d expect and want from this author.
