Not the Best

I have heard and listened to many people read the Bible and I was not empressed with the multiple readers. Some of them did and excellent job but others did not. It seemed to me that the ones who did had taken time to practise while those who didn't I felt did not the true tone of the passage they were reading. I will not recommend this to anyone.

Um, I know this is gonna sound horrible...

What did you like best about Psalms? What did you like least?

There is a lot of female narration.... A lot. I love the Psalms but since they we're mostly written by David I've always imagined a more masculine tone as I read.. Not that it's bad to have female readers but it just isn't my particular thing.

Excellent!

I like this interpretation of the Psalms. It helps make a little more real and easier to apply to my everyday life, which I need more of.

A great way to hear Psalms

This was a great way to hear the book of psalms. One complaint though. There was never any reading of chapters so it is hard to follow along. The artists were great at reading and sometimes singing the psalms. Well worth listening to.

Overly Dramatized with horrid background music

What did you like best about Psalms? What did you like least?

Dramatization overkill + Lame background non-sensical chimes, nature sounds and other noise = Miserable. Angela Bassett is way overly dramatized. Every single syllable of every single word is overly pronounces and the dramatization turns to annoyance. Couple that with background music that once would expect in a spa, it takes away from one's ability to absorb the meant of each Psalm.

Would you be willing to try another book from Inspired By Media Group? Why or why not?

No. This was not up to what my exceptions were.

Would you listen to another book narrated by the narrators?

Not if I see Angela Bassett's name in there. I saw Samuel L. Jackson and Cuba Gooding and though it was going to be awesome. Instead, it was was so grating that I had to turn it off.

Do you think Psalms needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

This questions is irrelevant an quite comical. Unless you are asking God you ain't gonna get a follow-up book.

Any additional comments?

Overall, I would look at other resources that will spare the reading and off-key singing.

Disappointing

I was really looking forward to listening to the Psalms read. I felt like the readers tried too hard to make them into a full-blown production instead of allowing the beauty of the words be enough for the listener.

The Bible Experience - Psalms

I love this! This dramatization is not only inspiring but also engaging to the point of making it extremely personal. Hearing the Psalms with women's voices and such talented actresses touches me deeply. Thank you!

Very pleased

Bought it for my mom for her birthday and she loved it. The contrasting voices are nice and ever so often parts of the psalms and sung and this really breaks up the listening nicely. Now she wants to buy copies for her friends too.

Phenominal

I love this powerfully read and spiritually delivered words of God. It means a lot to me to have the bible in audible verse. The book of psalms move my heart and spirit...My God, My God! I take umbrage to anyone who is not moved by the gift that these God fearing thespians, musicians, and blessed ministers, bishops, and priest delivered with such conviction.
