poorly put together

Although the narrators voices are simply not for me, I think this is just personal preference as others may actually enjoy the narrators voices, tones, and reading styles, but I simply do not. That is really not the problem for this collection, the books are scattered and it is almost impossible to jump from one book to the next or vice versa.

I love the story BUT cannot listen to readers

This is a wonderful story and I have read or listened so many times, it is almost committed to memory but I can't listen to the narrators in this case. I endured most of Emma by one of the same readers and finally had to exit altogether. I'm returning it too.

Boring!!!!

I have read the stories in the past and wished to relive the fabulous accounts of the characters...BUT i wanted to rip my hair out at the dull, droning, unenthusiastic reading of these fabulous stories. It was 0.66cents so I am not that worried. I will make sure I NEVER purchase anything with that narrator again.

just say no

Narrative is horrible. Did Jane Austen no justice. these stories are wonderful and should be read by someone who can really bring it to life.

THANK YOU, AUDIBLE!!!!!!!

The entire collection is fantastic, but the trailer -- a collection of snippets from "The Watson's" electrified me! The narratior sounded JUST like my Grandmother (long passed) reading me to sleep! I immediately woke up, backed up the recording and replayed it to find out if I was "just dreaming" -- or if Audible somehow managed to channel Granma to me, years after she passed. Somehow, across time and space, my Grandmother's' (or something like an exact duplicate of HER voice) seemed to roll out of my tablet, as if she was just reading me to to sleep!) I treasured this collection LONG before the end cuts........but I will treasure it all the more, now. Thank you, Audible, THANK YOU! AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE.!

Wonderful Stories Horribly Performed

I cannot say a word against Austen's work. The performance of her masterpieces, however, is frankly horrendous. The reader speaks in a robotic monotone with strange accents and annunciations, and she mispronounces and leaves out words. I truly cannot express how unsatisfying it is to listen -- I couldn't even make it a chapter into Emma, the first book. And this is said from someone who regularly listenes to the text-to-speech function on the Kindle, which is actually robotic.

Poorly read

Terrible narrator. Mispronounced words and very fake accent.
I had expected better, but you get what you pay for.
Beware free books!!
