Good characters, little story, lots of descriptive

Great characters and intriguing promise of a deeper story but the plot was light and wrought with unnecessary descriptions. Still not quite sure what it was about. That said, very artistic writing and very well read.

Slow to start, but then it caught my interest.

At the beginning the prolonged descriptions were hard to keep up with, but once the plot develops I was caught. The ideas surrounding the establishment if the Israeli State are intriguing and a great starting point of discussion. I found the love story unnecessary, but probably a nice pretext for a deep philosophical analysis of political and religious matters
