Admittedly this was my first book from JAE. I assumed her books were too cheesy for my taste but I really enjoyed it. Yes, it was a little cheesy but also funny and endearing so it was just the right amount of cheese. :)

Plus Angela Dawe did an amazing job as usual. She manages to make the funny parts even funnier and the steamy parts even steamier.

I don’t have the words for it. I love the whole story. I love the narration. I love their chemistry. In the beginning, while I was listening I tried picturing them together and wasn’t feeling it but as I go on because I gotta say it’s quite funny, I found myself laughing out loud. I rooted for them ever since and have loved their story. This is one my of my favorite book of Jae. Angela Dawe is my favorite narrator.

This is one of my all time favourite fake dating lesfics and that's saying something as it's one of my favourite tropes. The acting is excellent. The author's experience in the mental health industry shines through both in Claire's internal conflicts as a therapist and how someone who's had negative experiences of the self-help/mental health industry would react to her. And Lana's just the kind of person who I warm up to instantly.

If you like watching apparent ice queens who genuinely care fall for openly caring people who hide more pain than you'd expect, this book is for you.

P.S. no, I am not equating the self-help and mental health industries as not everyone in the former is legally (or ethically) qualified to take part in the latter, BUT I can see why people with negative experiences would.
