Back story as a reader… in 2017 a car accident took a bit from me, reading ended up being one of those things. Introduce Audible! I wasn’t able to use the app at first because even listening to stories I either didn’t understand or couldn’t follow.
T.M Frazier is the author who pulled memory out of my injury a bit. I am on book 3 and I can still remember details from books 1&2 and although I wish I didn’t remember certain parts of the story line it is bitter sweet.
There is love, lust and violence, I wasn’t one who liked this type of book especially when I have listened to some narrators make it so embarrassing to listen you have to stop. Molly and Rob did great, a fresh take for my ears!
I think you honestly need to start reading, yes the nov has a few trigger warnings BUT King makes everything okay!

This was honestly one of the worst listens I’ve had. The female main character was unbelievably irritating and came off as preachy, immature, and completely one-dimensional. There was zero real character development, so it was impossible to feel invested in her or King or the relationship. The romance made no sense because there was barely any meaningful dialogue or emotional buildup to justify why these two were suddenly so obsessed with each other.

On top of that, the narration made it even worse. The FMC’s voice sounded like she was constantly out of breath, which became distracting and almost ridiculous after a while. Instead of adding emotion, it just made the performance feel forced and overdone. Overall, the story felt shallow, the characters were unlikeable, and the chemistry was completely unconvincing.
