Story
Most all tarot books present card-by-card interpretations as well as an instruction on how to read spreads. This book takes the next logical step inward by presenting the art of reading in a workbook format and helps you learn to interpret the cards intuitively. The book falls into two parts. The first part concerns learning about the cards and includes exercises for each card that teaches you to trust your interpretation of the card. The second part helps you develop that ability, a skill that Reed calls “intuition”.

Over the past few years, Hekate has gained increasing popularity around the world. While there are books written about the historical Hekate, there is a lack of information applying this knowledge for personal development and practicing witchcraft. Keeping Her Keys blends the "keys" of personal development, magick, and the ancient goddess, Hekate, together. Topics include the power of prayer, how to create sacred space, and guidance on spell-crafting. In the final chapter, listeners can perform an optional self-initiation to become a Keeper of Her Keys.

Pros and Cons
First- I want to say: I love how this book is narrated and structured. It’s easy on the ears and provides great insight and knowledge. However, if you’re just starting out and dabbling with the concept of tarot reading (ahem- like me), not having the accompanying pdf’s included as a download... leaves newbies feeling a bit cheated. For example: There isn’t an option to see the different card “spreads” that the author refers to and speaks of- which may not be a big deal to someone who already has a foundation about tarot reading, but becomes a barrier for the legit beginners. I’m also unsure if pictures of the actual cards the author describes are featured in the book, but if they are- Holy Smokes... what a treat! As for me though, I still enjoyed listening to the book overall, but am left searching for another title with a downloadable pdf as an option.

Great starting point for Tarot
An easy to understand breakdown of each card and story plug-ins from both ancient fables and pop-culture to help remember the symbolism of each. The narrator has a grounded "witchy" voice that made it fun to listen to, in contrast to the some of the other narrators of this genre that can feel a bit airy and hard to take in for "down to earth" kinds of people. This book also lays out some unexpected great advice for people looking to read as a profession, which wasn't what I was originally was looking for, but found to be very helpful when thinking about reading for friends or at parties. This is a great starting point for people who are looking for a card to card walk-through of their deck. I recommend having your deck close by and laying out each card as the author points out characteristics in the illustrations of each.

Insightful and great for beginners
Very insightful and great book for a beginner (me). This audiobook and the physical copy have brought clarity to my reading skills and approach. The narrator was captivating and brought the book to life. I loved this audiobook so much I actually bought the physical copy. I plan to use it further in my tarot study. I loved how the author incorporated her own stories and lessons she’s learned along the way. She also provides great advice and guidance on reading for others.

Refreshing & Helpful for Beginners & Veterans
Kitchen Table Tarot is a well organized, thoughtful and practical guide to the Tarot for beginners and experienced Tarot readers. Melissa Cynova's writing style is conversational and engaging. I've been reading Tarot for about eight years and managed to glean some useful nuggets. Cynova's card interpretations are fresh and earthy, and her non-woo-woo approach is easy to follow. I recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn or review Tarot basics.
