A different take on LITRPG...
This is not the typical litrpg story. The characters are older and both the real life and the game storylines are very good. It's a feel good plot that made me tear up a couple times and definitely chuckle. It's entertaining and quiet enjoyabl. I still have around two hours left but I have really enjoyed this book so far. it may not be everybody's cup of tea, but I would personally recommend trying it for a listen.

Great idea and premise!
I have enjoyed most of Daniel Schinhofen's series... but I honestly could not get through this one (due to my own personal experiences!). I'm over halfway through the book and have enjoyed it overall! The narrator is great as well!
***SPOILERS***
But my problem is... I had almost this exact scenario with cancer and terminal (or at thw very least very low odds), as a healthy 40yr old, and I could not continue. It was too close to my own experience, and I could noy relive it again... Sorry Daniel!

best in some time
GREAT STORY! there is no doom and gloom non sense that is dragged out for no apparent reason aside from having a terrible plot.
it's easy to enjoy the characters, and the unique take on the litrpg.

seniors with killer instinct
Loved the many references to WOW . The fact that the protagonists were skilled mmorpg players with some grey in their hair made this series very relatable for me. The saucy banter was so nostalgic of guild chat. I do think they would have been better playing horde instead of alliance in their wow days (lol) . fiun book can not wait to get the next in series. Gratz!
