Story
Kettle had it all. Until he didn't. He lost it all in a moment. One heart stopping, soul shattering moment, and there wasn't a single thing he could do about it. From that day forward, he stayed away from relationships. Then he responded to a possible fire and there she was, rocking his world when he didn't want it to be rocked. Adeline was just a schoolteacher. She lived a boring life. Until she stole something. And it didn't have anything to do with the sexy firefighter's heart. Oh, she stole that, too, even if he didn't want it to be stolen.

Story
Loki's life was a lie. Everything he'd done for the last eight years was under an assumed name for the Benton Police Department. He'd lied, cheated, and stolen all in the name of the law. He wore himself thin, and not even the open road could take away the pain anymore. Then his little next door neighbor moved in, and suddenly, he had a reason to get out of bed every morning. Except he was an officer of the law and a member of a prominent motorcycle club in the area, The Dixie Wardens MC. Neither of which she could deal with.

Story
Michael was that guy. The one that everyone was cautious of. Maybe it was the tattoos. Maybe it was the way he gave off a "don't screw with me" vibe. Maybe it was because he just told them to leave him the hell alone. Regardless, people gave him his space. He was screwed up, and everyone knew it. He got tattoos because he liked the pain. He was standoffish. He didn't have many friends outside of work. And the only thing he had going for him was that he was a good cop.

Story
Luke Roberts came to the small, lazy town of Kilgore, Texas, with one thing on his mind: forgetting. He wanted to forget why he left. Forget those emerald green eyes that haunted his dreams. And forget how it felt to have his heart ripped out of his chest by a woman who didn't like the fact that he had a child. It was something he'd been doing a damn fine job of doing, too. Until Reese smashed through every one of his defenses and made him feel again.

Story
Bad boy. Screw-up. Good for nothing. Hero. Angel. These were all words Grayson 'Torren' Trammel had heard whispered behind his back over his lifetime. What he hadn't heard was 'quitter,' and he'd be damned if some little rehab chick, with her beautiful brown hair, and hot, sassy little mouth was going to label him as such. Tru knows Grayson's not for her. He's too bad. Too hot. Too demanding. Too taken. She tells herself that almost daily as she helps Grayson get back into fighting shape after a horrific accident nearly ripped his life away from him.

He should’ve never left his house. He should’ve stayed at home. He has a legitimate excuse - he’s running a fever and he’s fairly sure he’s developing pneumonia. He should have called in sick...but he doesn’t. He goes to work, because his team is relying on him. Needless to say, when Samuel Adams walks into the pharmacy hours later, he only has one thing on his mind. Ibuprofen. Sadly, he never gets to the Ibuprofen. Mostly because before he gets there, he finds a junkie waving a gun around threatening to kill anybody that moves.

Ares saw him for the first time at a Kilgore Police Department benefit dinner. She’d gone with her dad as his plus one. Hayes Greer had gone by himself and brooded silently across the same table as her, drinking whiskey and not saying a word. It only took that one time for her to become interested. The next time she saw him, he was doing another benefit - but this one requiring a whole lot fewer clothes. And that was when she knew. She wanted him. Badly. But the morose Hayes was too busy thinking about his sins to see what was right in front of his face - Ares.

Story
Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter. Okay, he wouldn't lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and "men like him". Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he's about as alpha as they come, and she's tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.
Publisher's Summary
You're the Lights
Sebastian had one rule. No women on the back of his bike. Period. The one time he broke that rule, he killed the woman that was carrying his child. Then comes Baylee Roberts. She makes Sebastian want to break every single rule he'd ever implemented. Hell, but she even makes him consider that dreaded H word. A helmet.
To My....
Baylee Roberts innocently walked into her bathroom never expecting that she'd find a man in there. It is her bathroom after all, and she lives alone. From the instant he placed his hat on her head to protect her from the sun, Baylee's mind becomes filled with thoughts of a certain biker. She really shouldn't go there. There's no telling what kind of dangerous things he does for The Dixie Wardens MC.
Siren....
Nothing is ever as easy as it should be. Their relationship's one of them. Baylee's brother is a cop. Baylee's father is a cop. Which inevitably means that Baylee's going to have certain hang-ups about being with a man like himself. Sebastian has a lot on his plate with his busy job as a firefighter, a single father, and the vice president of The Dixie Wardens MC. Not enough, though, to keep him away from Baylee.
Contains mature themes.

Narrators Ruined it for me
OK, so we know reviews depend on the reader’s preference/perception (not always but mostly). If the reader is not into the genre, doesn’t like the tone of narrator, pauses, beliefs, mispronunciations, authors work, etc. My acceptance of a review depends on the majority rule concept. In this instance that was not the case, no one mentioned the boring performance. I hope my review is helpful in persuading you to speed listen. The performers completely ruined the book; my God, it was totally boring, very slow (like listening to a very long eulogy read by an elderly cowboy librarian fighting to stay awake (and not the newly elderly, one who’s been elderly for a while), the female’s execution was ½ a click before OK, which is weird because I’ve heard her read before and she is normally fine (sorry, I don’t know how else to describe them)). In most cases, poor performance leaves me unable to provide a valuable feedback as to the quality of the book. This however was completely different, you can clearly see how well the book is written and would have gotten a 4.5 star if not for the narrators. If you are into listening on high speed (at least 1.25), I highly recommend it.

Series Winner!
I’m in the process of getting through all the other stories Lani Lynn Vale has written in the past. This gem was so much fun to listen to. Baylee and Sebastian are full of so much passion and easily gravitate to each other. A winner! 5 stars!

I enjoyed the story and the characters. I did find the wording repetitive. The reading is solid, but I didn’t enjoy listening to Tristan James. I think it’s the slow drawl, so it’s probably completely personal 😅.

the female narrator was cringy
this was a hard listen. the female narrator made you roll your eyes on the overly dramatic sex scenes. A classic "faking an orgasm" sounds. won't listen to the next book if the same narrator

Good Listening
Loved the respect shown even during conflict. The love was evident. The blatant disrespect & abuse shown towards the women in other MC books was not prevalent here. Nice change. It was still hot but I didn't feel like I wanted to throw up over the abusive treatment of the heroine & her reaction to it (The he physically & verbally abuses her & she can't wait to have sex with him because he's so hot & she loves him syndrome).
