Good story less good reader
I love this story but the reader cannot pronounce oblige or obliged or obliging.. she says oblajhed (that's the closest I can come to spelling if phonetically) I'm not sure if that's how you pronounce it somewhere else in the UK but I've never heard it. it's a relatively small issue but very irritating. I never noticed how often Jane Austen uses that word until now.

Excellent story but mediocre narration
I love Jane Austen and I love the novel Persuasion - it strikes a different tone that the rest of her novels in its dealing with more mature characters.
However I was very disappointed by the narration of the book - throughout the novel my attention was repeatedly called to mispronunciations (even of common words - for some reason the narrate continually mispronounces the word "oblige") and sentences read with the stress on the wrong word. This was in some measure distracting from the enjoyment of the book itself.

Bad accent!
I might not be so bored if the narrator didn’t have such a terrible fake accent. Very distracting.
