Publisher's Summary

The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered, and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone. But for the children of Dune, the very blossoming of their land contains the seeds of its own destruction. The altered climate is destroying the giant sandworms, and this in turn is disastrous for the planet's economy. Leto and Ghanima, Paul Atreides's twin children and his heirs, can see possible solutions - but fanatics begin to challenge the rule of the all-powerful Atreides empire, and more than economic disaster threatens.

Top quality narration

The narrators do such a good job, and are extremely consistent. Lots of characters to cover, and they make it easy to follow.

I learned so much

I love this reading of the book. I learned so much from slowing down and listening and thinking about what the author is saying. the narrator has a perfect voice for this book. I was genuinely surprised at least four times by something that I should have known from reading the book multiple times but I never picked up on. listening to the book as told by the narrator is a fantastic experience.

Great Book, Annoying Reader

Love the story in itself but felt like the reader butchered a decent few aspects of it, one of the big ones for me being his accents on Stilgar being akin to an Italian Dracula. Took me right out of the story and ruined stilgars parts for me.

A Classic

A classic science fiction masterpiece. the writing is incredible, richly detailed and poetic. The series is a truly fascinating tale! Narration is solid, but I was hoping for more Scott Brick.

A confusing ride with a satisfying ending

There are so many twists and turns in this book, and the ending is resolved in a way that only Frank Herbert could deliver. Weird and quirky, but logical.

So far the best.

The ideas really come together here. I thought Messiah was kinda weak compared to the first, but this one is really engaging. Also, it's just read, wish is much better than the radio play approach of the first.

I could read (or listen) to this series over and over and each time pick up something new from it.
