No maze, no zombies, no games....

In the tragic aftermath of the clash with the marauders, Luke has walked out. No one knows where he's gone, and no one knows if he'll be back.

With only reminders of tragedy behind him, he sets off to fight his demons on his own terms, his first time alone in the ruins of America. Will he find solace he is looking for or only more danger and death?

Don't miss the gripping fifth episode of America Falls.

realistic

When the world as we know it ends, this book is what might happen. It is incredible how different kids might react to the circumstances.

cautiously optimistic and pleasantly surprised

This series is starting to have that feel of the never-ending story and how can the author creatively keep it going but he DOES. This story takes a very organic detour from the main plotline of Isaac's big group and follows Luke on his solo trek after the death of his beloved wife after the standoff with the Marauders. If only he knew what was back home! UGH!!

Medbury uses a clever writing technique of starting us off in a clench; seemingly the demise of Luke to then bring us back to what led up to that point. Its a great way to lure the audience in and commit them to the rest of the story. It works. You're sitting there going "whhhaaaaattt!?!?, that can't be! What happened to Luke?!". And then you get the backstory.

I'm still undecided how successful this is in greater America Falls story longevity but its a good off-shoot from the main plot so it could almost be like a Book 4.5 for me.

Again, a few tears, and cheers and horrays in this one. Just starting book 6. Lets see where this goes now.

so very entertaining.

the story is very relevant to our time post apocalypse scenarios need to be thought of. I like this author's rendition of what could possibly happen, the characters are well-developed and the imagery was nice. the performance was great however the s's seem to be a little on the sharp side for my ears. I am definitely going to listen to it again.
