Publisher's Summary

Mama of 10 Abbie Halberstadt helps women humbly and gracefully rise to the high calling of motherhood without settling for mediocrity or losing their minds in the process.

Motherhood is a challenge. Unfortunately, our worldly culture offers moms little in the way of real help. Mamas only connect to celebrate surviving another day and to share in their misery, rather than rejoice in what God has done and to build each other up in hard times. There has a be a better way, a biblical way, for mamas to grow and thrive.

As a daughter of Christ, you have been called to be more than an average mama. Attaining excellence doesn't have to be unsettling, but it will take committed focus and a desire to parent well according to God's grace and for his glory.

M Is for Mama offers advice, encouragement, and scripturally sound strategies seasoned with a little bit of humor to help you embrace the challenge of biblical motherhood and raise your children with love and wisdom.

Mama, you are worthy of the awesome responsibility God has given you. Now it's time to start believing you can live up to it.

The Lord, He is good!

I needed this, and the Lord knew it. My mothering woes are by no means abolished through listening to this book but I have been encouraged, challenged, and “spurred on toward love and good deeds”. The biblical truth Abbie reminds us of is essential and too easily drowned out by the cultural voices were inundated with.
Thank you Abbie.

A Must Read

This was an excellent book! It will be one that I will come back and listen to again and again. It is filled with spiritual truths, encouragement, and conviction. I really appreciated her practical ideas, and her real life examples of tough times in parenting. It felt like she really gets it. I also appreciated her God-centred approach to motherhood. This is a must read!

This book has encouraged me in so many ways!

This book! When my sister recommended this book I was desperate for something to help encourage me in this hard season of motherhood. But as the book says, just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s bad 🙌🏻
Read if, buy it for your family and friends and let’s become the amazing Moms we were created to be and flush mediocre motherhood down the toilet!

Solid Biblical Advice

Abbie Halberstadt presents solid biblical encouragement for today's modern mother. Her advice left me encouraged to pursue my calling as a mother as exactly that, a calling, rather than just something mediocre that I do.

Prepare to be convicted!

I'm so glad I've found this book. It convicted me I'm more ways that I can count. I've seen some reviewers felt they were shamed... All I felt is conviction. I was that mediocre mama on a path to get better, and listening to this book blessed me so much. We need more godly mamas pointing us to God in our motherhood!
Thank you Abby!

So encouraged

Sometimes I feel like a crazy mom for doing things differently than most, not even necessarily because I want to, but because I feel compelled to. This book was so encouraging and I felt so spurred on towards godliness. I’m looking forward to reading her second book and hoping it helps me overcome some hurdles of “hard”

Authors views are somewhat narrow/ judgmental

I often felt defensive and angry in unproductive ways while listening to this audio book. The author sometimes comes across as quite judgemental of other Christian mothers who *also* read scripture with open hands, and who perhaps are led to other understandings of how God speaks in to "mom guilt," the beauty and struggle of raising children while also positively contributing to society through her profession and other topics. She makes judgements about other women who "wrongly" claim authority in their convictions and seems to lack insight into how she also draws her own lines of what is/isn't biblical. In short: she makes some good points, but overall I found her to be narrow and judgmental in ways that closed my heart to her overall message.
