Story
These 1028 poems, grouped as 10 ‘Circles’ (mandalas), have variously been called hymns, poems or songs by Sanskrit scholars. The Rik (so pronounced by the ancient Angirases clans, or Seer-Priest families) was an experiment with sound. The emphasis is always on sounding the words perfectly. The focus tends to be on the ideas rather than on the authors in Vedic literature, they are largely religious in nature, reflecting the world view and spiritual preoccupations of ancient India.

Story
In the Upanishads, illumined sages share flashes of insight, the results of their investigation into consciousness itself. In extraordinary visions, they experience directly a transcendent Reality which is the essence, or Self, of each created being. They teach that each of us, each Self, is eternal, deathless, one with the power that created the universe.

Story
The ancient Indian Sanskrit epic the Rāmāyana was composed some time between the first and fifth centuries BCE. As is the case with most ancient literature firmly rooted in the oral tradition, precise dating is problematic. Traditionally attributed to the sage Valmīki, and composed in rhyming couplets, it is one of the two great Indian epics (the other being the Mahābhārata); consequently it is known and revered not just throughout the Indian subcontinent but also in South-East Asian countries as well, indeed wherever Hindu culture became established.

Story
The Bhagwat Gita is the main sourcebook on yoga and is a concise summary of India’s Vedic wisdom. Yet, remarkably, the setting for this classic spiritual text is an ancient Indian battlefield. In this interpretation of the Gita, the author explains that the essence of the Gita is the equanimity of mind, which is attained by transcending it because mind consciousness is myopic and only spiritual consciousness abounds in universal love and absolute knowledge.

The Bhagavad Gita is a gem so precious in India's spiritual treasury that many regard it not as a volume of sacred verse, but as a living manifestation of the Divine. In the summer of 1974, inside a balmy Boulder, Colorado, warehouse that served as a main hall of a fledgling Naropa Institute, some say a minor miracle occured: The reawakening of the Gita's living presence, as it unfolded in a series of wisdom teachings led by Ram Dass.

Story
The history of the tablets translated in the following book is strange and beyond the belief of modern scientists. Their antiquity is stupendous, dating back some 36,000 years. The writer is Thoth, an Atlantean Priest-King, who founded a colony in ancient Egypt after the sinking of the mother country. He was the builder of the Great Pyramid of Giza, erroneously attributed to Cheops. In it he incorporated his knowledge of the ancient wisdom and also securely secreted records and instruments of ancient Atlantis.

Thanks for this beautiful reading!
I’m listening to this for the 6th time and I will listen again to be sure. I find the narrators tone very easy to listen to and the translation praise worthy though it uses the colonial English to replace Sanskrit words which have no accurate definition therein. Is this available on CD so I can send it to those who haven’t got access to ‘smart’ technology? I know a number of elders for whom this would be a lovely gift.
Thanks so much, Jai Shri Krishna!

Missing/out of order pieces
I don’t think that the narrator does a terrible job… But something has gone wrong several times I am only on chapter 7 at this point but there’s been chapters were bits of been either lost completely due to recording malfunctions may be, or repeated after they’ve already been read, or the recording stops right before the sentence finishes. That said, the book itself is amazing, and finding it in English translation would be a better way to enjoy this.

Loved the story and the narrator.
Beautiful epic. I loved how it was all connected, but you could pick a section and still find meaning and joy, even if you missed a piece. Handy when passively listening. I'm on my third listen lol.
One and only complaint is quality of the recording...I think? It needs fine tuning in post maybe? Or, it's just me. I hear a lot of mouth sounds and I can hear where the recording cuts. It's still an amazing audiobook and narrator! I just couldn't do it with headphones lol

very poor rendition
The narration is extremely poor. The narrator did not make any effort to learn the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit words or at least the names. That is a crime, I should be asking for a refund.
