I listened to the whole book on the verge of tears, my heart in my throat. The pains and joys of the characters were sometimes so hard to take, so hard on my soul but like their own experiences well worth the effort. Harmon’s writing is amazing so unexpected. I plan to read everything she’s written, between others to make whatever sadness they contain softer.

I loved how the characters of Fern, Ambrose, and Bailey emerged. The narrator was very good, capturing each character and their emotions!!
