Publisher's Summary

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

Fantastic characters

The characters were so well developed, we found out a bit about them as the story progressed, a nice amount of discovery as the story flowed. Great writing , really great narration, a wonderful story, well worth the time to listen.

The scowler vs the airhead.

This storyline kept me coming back for more. However, though I loved Jack and his reader - I struggled with Rose. The reader made her sound like such an airhead.

Loved the book, not the audiobook

This book was one of my top reads this year. I adored the characters Rose and Jack (yes just like the Titanic but in this case Rose saves Jack and he saves her right back).

Unfortunately the voice of Rose was too flippant and girlie. The voice of Jack was ok but I found him his more intimate scenes a little cringe worthy.

If you have not read the book, you may like the audiobook better than I dud because I the characters I heard in my head did not match the voices in the audiobook. This was a first time it ever happened to me. The story is great and very romantic.

What is BookTok thinking?

The problem with this book is how far I had to suspend my disbelief to get over the stupidity of the plot and get through it. The characters are pretty good, even funny sometimes. Some of the subplots were ok as well. The love story was cute. But the main plot and conflicts were ridiculous. So bad that I almost DNF’d it at the 80% mark. I stuck it out and finished it but I still have a headache from how hard my eyes rolled when the big reveal of the conflict happened. Seriously? Anyway, my overall opinion is that it was ok. Oh, the epilogue was actually really sweet and might be my favourite part.
