I loved this. I admit to not being a fan of fake boyfriend tropes but I was surprised! There’s not a whole lot of contrived angst here which is a relief. And there’s ZERO internalized straight boy homophobia. Jude is well adjusted despite his past and while I understand journeys like this aren’t smooth sailing IRL, I enjoy a smoother trip in my fiction. Both characters are ALL-IN and the relationship seems to be genuine. It’s a HEA but also a happy-as-they-go too. If you read romance FOR the romance AND well written sexy times (wooo-eeeee) then you’ll love June and Briar. Ps: the cast of characters here are lovely and not overwhelming.

Now, an homage to Kale Williams. Clearly a talented and exacting actor who makes each character unique. He utilized the pacing, phrasing and writer’s word choice to bring this story to life. If you’re a fan of audiobooks you’ll appreciate it when the author says a character “chuckles” while saying something or speaks with his mouth full, and the ACTOR DOES!!!

I’ve a few actor favs, Joel Leslie and Greg Boudreaux to name two such experts, and I’ll be adding Mr. Williams to my must “listen” list.

I’m hoping Ms. Monroe and Mr. Williams get together soon on Fix Me. Saint’s story will be AMAZING.
