Publisher's Summary

The ravaged continent of Genabackis has given birth to a terrifying new empire: the Pannion Domin. Like a tide of corrupted blood, it seethes across the land, devouring all. In its path stands an uneasy alliance: Onearm’s army and Whiskeyjack’s Bridgeburners alongside their enemies of old - the forces of the Warlord Caladan Brood, Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii mages, and the Rhivi people of the plains. But ancient undead clans are also gathering; the T’lan Imass have risen. For it would seem something altogether darker and more malign threatens this world. Rumors abound that the Crippled God is now unchained and intent on a terrible revenge. Marking the return of many characters from Gardens of the Moon and introducing a host of remarkable new players, Memories of Ice is both a momentous new chapter in Steven Erikson’s magnificent epic fantasy and a triumph of storytelling.

More Kruppe!!

Excellent book, missed Kruppe in the second one. Similar structure to the first two and expect this to continue. Won't spoil the end but just damn. Narration is excellent especially for one person doing all of them!

My all time favourite

I have read this book 6 - 7 times and now have listened to it once. The story is absolutely phenomenal. Sorcery, blood, guts, glory & heart wrenching at times .

High Fantasy without equal

Tales from the Malazan Book of the Fallen, is one of the best series I have ever read, which is why I'm reading it again. I’ve been reviewing books in point form. The books in this series deserve the essay treatment, but I’m not good at that. Memories of Ice, third in the series, deals with one military campaign, but it becomes apparent that it is part of an undeclared war that may determine the fate of the entire world. The viewpoint characters are fully developed and empathetic, scenes of action are gripping. Events taking place hundreds of miles apart, seemingly unconnected, are inextricably entwined. This story is as much about individual choice as it is High Fantasy. If you haven’t tried this series, give it a read. Order doesn’t matter: if you like one, you’ll want to read them all. Leave The Crippled God to the last, though.

Fantastic. Best book in the series

Erickson continues the history of the Malazans. The story is rich and the humor much more evident in this story. Incredible characters are introduced, Ericksen weaves several chronicles together, and there is gripping military violence mixed with genuine pathos.

Ralph Lister's reading is unparalleled. He has grown into the series. I wish he had continued.

This is a 5-star novel.

One of the best renditions of a fantasy tale

Great intonations, descriptive narrative, intriguing characters and awesomely narrated by one of the best there is. I hope i get to see a series on netflix or hbo about those books.

Listen to the whole bunch. Super captivating
