Publisher's Summary

FBI Agent Atlee Pine’s harrowing search for her long-lost sister Mercy reaches a boiling point in this breakneck thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author David Baldacci.

For her entire life, FBI agent Atlee Pine has been searching for her twin sister, Mercy, who was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Mercy’s disappearance left behind a damaged family that later shattered beyond repair when Atlee’s parents inexplicably abandoned her.

Now, after a perilous investigation that nearly proved fatal, Atlee has finally discovered not only the reason behind her parents’ abandonment and Mercy’s kidnapping, but also the most promising breakthrough yet: proof that Mercy survived her abduction and then escaped her captors many years ago.

Though Atlee is tantalizingly close to her family at last, the final leg of her long road to Mercy will be the most treacherous yet. Mercy left at least one dead body behind before fleeing her captors years before. Atlee has no idea if her sister is still alive, and if so, how she has been surviving all this time. When the truth is finally revealed, Atlee Pine will face the greatest danger yet, and it may well cost her everything.

Terrible book

This book is is a waste of time and money who would write such an unbelievable story. I gave up on it when they are sticking needles into an 8 year olds arms while she is tied down with ropes.

Incredible

David Baldacci has a way of manipulating suspense to keep the reader glued to to his storyline. I couldn’t put this this down. I wanted to know how it will end. Attlee is woman with nine lives. Always finding a way to get out difficult situations. Nice book

Best Atlee Pine book so far

I enjoyed every aspect of this book. I could not stop listening to this audiobook. I have listened to the books leading up to this one and followed Atlee’s search for her sister. The ending kept me wanting more and can’t wait to see what happens next.

Perfection

Amazing story. Beautiful, suspenseful, heartwrenching. Mercy is so courageous, the reunion is so unexpected and frustrating and satisfying. The whole thing is just wonderful. Best Baldacci book ever, in my opinion.

Not as good as expected

This is not what I expected from David Baldacci. A really poor work. I don’t recommend this book at all.

Atlee Pine is BACK

Oh how I missed this heroine. And the voices of Brittany and Kyf, like old friends coming to tell me
a story after Covid kept us apart.
The story jumps in right where it left off in the last book. I dreaded finding out what happened to Mercy after escaping the woods, but Baldacci handles this so well. You will be engrossed, angry, tearful. And mostly sad to think this may be the last of Atlee Pine and Carol Blum.

Terrible

This poorly Written book requires a detailed knowledge of the previous books and requires the reader to remember all of the characters and what they did. It cannot be read alone.

A Huge Disappointment!

David Baldacci is one of my favorite authors. I anxiously waited for the audiobook release of Mercy. I love the series, but this book was a colossal disappointment. Did Baldacci write this book, or did he have a ghostwriter? I was annoyed by the round-and-round storyline. It was as though situations would pop up with no rhyme or reason. There were so many subplots. It seemed Baldacci was attempting to bring all the loose ends together so he could move on to something else. Without a doubt, a feeble ending—I mean, really? Walking into the sunset—what a letdown.

Not David Baldacci book.

I find it hard to believe that Baldacci wrote this book. It is so unbelievable and it seems like whoever wrote this book just wrote down any nonsensical thought that came into his or her head.

Great Story - No one should miss

I hope David Baldacci takes a little break. I have been staying up listening to his stories on Audible and I’m tired!! I don’t want to miss a word. The characters are well drawn, their emotions revealed neatly and, oh
Yes, the narration was superb.
