The constant contradiction all of a sudden

It it's blatantly clear that in this particular book the author writes more so for convenience than consistency. The mc was presented at the knowledgeable person with experience and common sense yet and the most important times the all of a sudden conveniently forgets to do things that would be absolutely obvious so that way the plot can catch up with the character development. A few times things are given time limits but then words like the "next morning" happen clearly stating it's been longer than the time restraint.. I'm currently on the next book but already it's contradicting map details. Claiming it was very poorly done when first found and in the next book it's claimed to be very well done, even more than what they thought the orcs are capable of Author clearly doesn't remember what he's already written. I get that's not what these books are about but at the same time it absolutely destroys immersion especially when it's an audiobook. I liking the series so far but this its really ruining it for me.
