Great Addition!
The is a great addition to the MHI saga, providing new insight to the powers that are vying for control of earth. My only complaint is that it was too short.
I've seen quite a few reviewers unhappy by the perspective change, but I think it was handled very well, with great narration, and there was tons of warning from Larry that this book would be from a different perspective.

Almost didn’t buy due to reviews but glad I did
I avoided this title for quite some because of some of the rough reviews but finally in a fit of “jonesing” for more of Larry Correia’s wonderful MHI universe I broke down and made the purchase….. and was most pleasantly surprised.
The action, humour and overall story are equal to the best of the series, impelling me to listen through a second time immediately. Given Julie’s importance in the series I appreciated having a chance to experience her perspective and found her reactions and actions to be reasonable (and entertaining!) in the immediate aftermath of the murder of her grandfather and kidnapping of her child ( for a bad-ass, that is)…. And Management and Mr Trashbags, it doesn’t get better than that.
I’m a little confused with the many reviews criticizing the narration. First off this novel is told from the first person perspective of a woman . It would not be fair to put a male narrator, no matter how excellent, in this position, nor would it be appropriate. The version I listened to was narrated by Brynne Blake, and her performance was superb. Her crisp, clear and exciting narration kept my interest throughout. I would be happy to listen to anything Ms Blake narrates ( as long as it’s in my wheelhouse)

Another excellent MHI story. I love when they do separate stories from the Owen Pitt saga. It makes the world building so much larger. the narration was excellent as well.

Too bad this was all about panic searching...
So much whining about baby Ray. Dozen or more declarations of motherhood, I almost gave up.
Women/mothers are intelligent, funny, leaders and so much more than separation from child.
Of the series... This one I regret purchasing.

Totally new perspective
I must admit, I wasn’t crazy about anybody but Oliver Wyman telling me this story, but Bailey Carr was wonderful as Julie, and honestly, this narration needed a woman’s voice. Now I understand why Owen fell for Julie Shackleford. She is awesome. Can’t wait for the next one.

Bailey carr the butcher
The voice actor completely butchers this audio book. on eof my favorite book series until I heard this book. It's like she didn't even try on this book. she can barely do a male voice, and all of the females basically sound very similar. Also, she couldn't do an accent to save her life. I would imagine a professional would have listened to at least the previous book kinda get a feel for how things should be done, but nope, just absolutely butchered it instead. I really think this needs to be re-read by oliver wyman and re published
