Publisher's Summary
A snowbound country mansion, a missing butler, and a Christmas case...
Olive and Jasper have never been closer - except for one thing. Jasper is still reticent about his frequent disappearances from polite society. With the holidays approaching and no paying client on the books, Olive decides to shadow Jasper when he’s unexpectedly called away. Her search brings her to Holly Hill Lodge where an eclectic group has gathered to celebrate an old-fashioned English Christmas.
The guest list includes a celebrated lawn tennis champion, a fussy scientist studying snowflakes, a persuasive luggage salesman, a famous lady traveler, and the family’s eccentric aunt who has a fondness for the newfangled drinks called cocktails.
When the butler goes missing, Olive and Jasper must work together to solve the Christmas crime - as well as the secret Jasper hides. Murder on a Midnight Clear is the latest installment in USA Today best-selling author Sara Rosett’s popular High Society Lady Detective series.
Unwrap this 1920s Christmas mystery with all the trimmings - carols, a Yule log, plum pudding...and murder.

Very enjoyable historical cozy mystery!
I have been keeping up with this series! I love the narrator. She sets the tone nicely and has a lovely accent that goes along with the story and it’s setting. This novel has a nice Christmas theme and of course a mystery to solve! I love how Jasper we get to know him better. It’s taking long enough! Looking forward to more of Jasper and Olive!

Love the cozy mystery
My husband and I like to listen to cozy mysteries when we are driving long distances and have come upon this high society detective series. We enjoy it very much. We like the audiobooks because the narrator does a good job but reading the book would be fun too I think. We enjoy the Olive character and I have loved Jasper from the beginning. He is very charming. If you like a light, enjoyable mystery, we recommend this book and the whole series.

Good listen
I enjoy this series. The author does a great job advancing the characters from book to book. The mysteries/murders are well thought out and entertaining. They are a good listen and the narrator does a good job moving the story along. Another good series entry.

Wonderful Cozy Christmas Murder Mystery
I have listened to all the High Society Detective offerings at least twice but Murder on a Midnight Clear is my favorite. I have listened to it at least five times and I am looking forward to the next installation. I like that we are away from Olive’s family and friends except Jasper. It was great meeting new characters with their own back stories and quirks. Also, Jasper and Olive switched off playing Watson to the other. The narration of Elizabeth Kletts was great as usually. I would love story involving Jasper’s manservant in which Olive proves him innocent so he can get past his negative feelings toward Olive.
