Publisher's Summary
A thrilling fourth installment in the CWA Gold Dagger-winning Slough House series. What happens when an old spook loses his mind? Does the Service have a retirement home for those who know too many secrets but don't remember they're secret? Or does someone take care of the senile spy for good? These are the questions River Cartwright must ask when his grandfather, a Cold War-era operative, starts to forget to wear pants and begins to suspect everyone in his life has been sent by the Service to watch him. But River has other things to worry about. A bomb goes off in the middle of a busy shopping center and kills 40 innocent civilians. The agents of Slough House have to figure out who is behind this act of terror before the situation escalates.

Wonderful!
Interesting and entertaining, as the whole series has been with characters you love to hate. I’m very anxious to get to the next one. Very imaginative author, a very skilful narrator.

Another Winner
I started with the first book in this series and now I’m on to the next - great narration and another good story. I did wish Lamb was a little more in the picture, still the addition of a few new characters and an exciting plot line more than made up for it.

Unparalleled
Le Carre would have appreciated the ministry and so called substandard ex ministry types— every one drawn in Daumier -sharp strokes. A brilliant series
Some laugh out loud moments.. others that nearly bring you to tears. I don’t want it to end

Love this series!
As always, Jackson Lamb does not disappoint. I might like home more than Bond, James Bond.

All good
I’ve been listening to the series and I’ve grown quite attached to the characters. The stories are surprising and seem authentic (of course, how would I know what British Intelligence is really like). I’ve even grown to love the narrator. His voice is so unruffled and so, so British.
