good, not what what I was expecting.

It should have been titled "Microbes vs. Man: The History of the Science of Pathology". This was a pretty light read, informative, and at times entertaining, but lacking any depth into the actual biology. I do not regret the 12 hrs invested. If the title of this book appeals to you, check out "Biology: The Science of Life". That book has lots of science, plenty of detail, and explained in a way that made it all accessible to my modest intellect.
