Publisher's Summary

A candid, thrilling memoir from one of the most recognizable, influential, and beloved cinematic personalities in the world.

Everyone knows Jackie Chan. Whether it’s from Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon, The Karate Kid, or Kung Fu Panda, Jackie is admired by generations of moviegoers for his acrobatic fighting style, comic timing, and mind-bending stunts. In 2016 - after 56 years in the industry, over 200 films, and many broken bones - he received an honorary Academy Award for his lifetime achievement in film. But at 64 years old, Jackie is just getting started.

Now, in Never Grow Up, the global superstar reflects on his early life, including his childhood years at the China Drama Academy (in which he was enrolled at the age of six), his big breaks (and setbacks) in Hong Kong and Hollywood, his numerous brushes with death (both on and off film sets), and his life as a husband and father (which has been, admittedly and regrettably, imperfect).

Jackie has never shied away from his mistakes. Since The Young Master in 1980, Jackie’s films have ended with a bloopers reel in which he stumbles over his lines, misses his mark, or crashes to the ground in a stunt gone south. In Never Grow Up, Jackie applies the same spirit of openness to his life, proving time and time again why he’s beloved the world over: He’s honest, funny, kind, brave beyond reckoning and - after all this time - still young at heart.

Great Leadership Guide Book

As a business owner, Jackie's tips really helped me to start paying more attention to the people around me at the office and treat them with more kindness and wisdom.

So Inspiring!

I am an actor myself so listening to this audiobook was very inspirational. I grew up watching Jackie Chan and was always fascinated. Listening to his life story gave me a new outlook on Jackie and I appreciate him much more. I feel like gathering a team and creating a fight scene listening to him. I am a Christian. I do hope he finds the Lord. 🙏

Life as the world's most famous stunt man!

I've always loved Jackie Chan. I grew up watching his films and loving every minute. Listening to this book gave me a glance into his life. Crazy fans, addiction, marriage, family, Jackie Chan gives us this intimate look into his life. We learn about his fears to what drives him. I think I took a lot away from this book about going after my dreams than any "self-help" or motivation book. I was right to look up to Jackie and I'll continue admire his work. On the performance: loved it. I almost felt like I was listening to Jackie Chan himself. There were moments I laughed out loud or was moved to tears. I didn't want this book to end. Great book all around and I'll be adding this to my favorites list.

An excellent listen

I got to know one of my favourite actor/martial artists a lot better. I’m definitely getting a hard copy of the book as well. Thank you, “CannonBall”.

Absolutely wonderful!

I thoroughly enjoyed this autobiography! Jackie Chan movies have always been family favorites in our home through the years. It's wonderful to hear about his life and the man behind the amazing body of work he has created all these years. The narrator's pacing was spot on. Often time, Jackie's voice came through during the read.

Underneath it all is a very honest man

This book is very emotional, funny and a great inward look about Jackie Chan's life. It is very inspiring and most importantly contains lessons he had experienced in life that he cared to share with everyone. I really enjoyed this book.
