Story
The story of Maya Angelou’s extraordinary life has been chronicled in her multiple best-selling autobiographies. But now, at last, the legendary author shares the deepest personal story of her life: her relationship with her mother. For the first time, Angelou reveals the triumphs and struggles of being the daughter of Vivian Baxter, an indomitable spirit whose petite size belied her larger-than-life presence - a presence absent during much of Angelou’s early life.

Take note, it’s inspirational
I typically do not buy books like this but thought it might be interesting since Gayle was involved and I loved it.
I don’t often reflect on the past but this book really inspired me to take in who I was during that age and who I have become. I just never imagined my life would take so many turns and that I have arrived at some of the key areas I wanted to succeed in. I have to take the time to take it all in. Thank you for this book.

enjoyable some pieces were too short.
Insightful several people would have done well with expanded time. Having their stories in their voice is historic. short and great for road travel.

AMAZING!
I literally cried on every note, this book is by far the hardest and most intense book to listen to.., it reminds me of so much hurt and pain I have trapped internally! I still have yet to sit and write my younger self due to the well of tears that form from simply picking up a pencil.

Interesting Concept
This was an interesting concept but fell short. Additional discussions to the reader/listener on how to approach and do this for self would be good. Helping the read grasp the benefits of such an exercise is important. Just listening to others, well lagged grounding of the purpose
