I was impressed with the author’s clear acknowledgment that MAGA was headed in the wrong direction altogether.
I originally purchased this book knowing Ms Cheney was vocal & determined to present the facts as they were … not as MAGA twisted & contorted their version of actual truths.
I’ve gone back & listened to the story again, to compare what we all thought back then to what is/was really the truth.
Standing up to MAGA’s untruths took a lot of guts & if I was ever fortunate to meet Ms Cheney I shake her hand & heartily congratulate - no holds barred.
Recommend highly.

Moral & Intellectual Courage in facing a Bully!

FAR too much praise for people testifying in the January 6th trials. Other than the Mother and Daughter from Georgia who were targeted and threatened and lied about by POTUS & his cowardly supporters, no one on his staff was heroic in testifying. His staff sat blithely by while Trump riled up the country by lying about the election. They did not speak up. They did not call him out. It wasn’t until they realized that what he caused on Jan. 6th would reflect poorly on them, negatively affect their own careers and lives, that they came forward. Nothing courageous in that. They enabled Trump to do what he did. They supported him throughout his presidency, knowing he was a liar, corrupt, stupid, a threat to democracy. They all knew. They did NOTHING. Liz’s ongoing praise of these “brave women” is sickening to me. Women who followed a rapist, gladly. Defended him. A narcissistic sociopath. Liz thinks they are an example for other women?
They are not.
They are Republicans who see nothing wrong in doing what’s wrong as long as it gains you power.
America is not what it once was.
It isn’t a democracy. It isn’t an example of what other countries should strive to be.
It is a sign of what corrupt people can do when given power.
America is an example and a warning to the world that absolute power corrupts absolutely.
